It looks like the UFC could be giving fans another early Halloween treat this October after already announcing a handful of “sweet” match-ups for their October 29 return to Las Vegas.
According to a source close to the situation, FiveOuncesofPain.com has confirmed a brawl between scintillating strikers Sam Stout and Dennis Siver is planned for UFC 137 with an official announcement likely coming soon. A win for either is likely to put them in the discussion for a crack at the top names in the division.
Stout is coming off perhaps his most impressive performance to date at UFC 131 in Vancouver where put Yves Edwards to sleep in the first round with a “Knockout of the Night” winning strike. Though it was the first KO for “Hands of Stone” in the UFC, the win was the fourth in five fights for the Team Tompkins student and the ninth strike-based stoppage of his career.
Siver is coming off a controversial decision win over Matt Wiman at UFC 132. The victory was the fourth consecutive instance of in-ring success for the powerful German kickboxer and added to a streak already including George Sotiropoulos and Spencer Fisher
UFC 137 is headlined by Georges St. Pierre‘s title-defense against Strikeforce stand-out Nick Diaz and will also feature Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Roy Nelson, Cheick Kongo vs. Matt Mitrione, and Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop. The card is also rumor to involve a welterweight showdown between B.J. Penn and Carlos Condit

guida is a teammate of guillard right?........so that isn't going to happen, and guilard is probably going to get a title shot or at least someone top notch and siver is not it.

Honestly who knows if that will happen. That means that Guida has to wait another month to even get an opponent while guys who just faught a few weeks ago already have opponents, that doesnt make sense at all. Plus if Miller wins, he will get the title shot hands down. There is now ay you can keep Miller out of a title shot with yet another win. There can even be a case made for Henderson if he wins decisively

Stout Siver is interesting, hope they don't resort to wrestling. I would rather have watched Lauzon/Siver Stout/Guillard
sherk guida would be good, especially if Sherk wrestled him to a win.

In light of the Pettis fight, it doesn't surprise me if Guida remains idle for the time being. Everyone at the top slots in the div. are in key matchups soon. Guida was given, Pettis, the most crucial matchup he's had since the UFC/WEC merge. In what would've established exactly, where he stood in the mix. Rather than make a bold statement w/ his performance. Instead, he choose to spend 15 mins. in top position, doing absolutely nothing, except avoid an onslaught of submission attempts . Bad move, on his part, because it was very apparent he didn't make a good impression on DW, post fight. DW has been vocal about point wins by the top shelf guys. However, in light pf Sherks immediate availabilty and with Silva dropping a deuce on Fitchs' immediate future, by scrapping Fitch/Penn II. Guidas last performance may have afforded him the shotgun seat next to Fitch. I hope Silva is making a bold statement for the guys in the top contender slots. Playing it safe, grinding and dry humping your way up the rungs on the ladder. It may win you decision after decision, but that kind of performance won't immediately merit you solid footing @ the top of the heap. Anyways, at least that's what I'm hoping for.

If you had made this comment before his last fight it would have been more of a back-handed comment.
A tad late I'd say. Little quicker next time!
WHAT A CARD!!!

Great fight. I think Sam is a little more technical and should be able to out box Siver. Siver likes to keep himself open with his hooks where as Stout has more of an arsenal including straight punches and hooks. Vegas here i come baby!
