Even if Gustafsson was offered the fight, is turning down Jon Jones on 4 weeks notice (when you're not in a training camp) "ducking" him?
Much like the use of "robbery", "ducking" seems to be a word that MMA fans love to use when they really shouldn't.

Oh, I forgot to add, Gustov made it clear previously in his career that he wasnt ready... Good for a fighter to be sure of what he's getting into.
Gustaf has the right to be hesitant, but still. At the end of the day, why does he train so hard? To dominate B-level fighters, or to compete with the best in the world? I wouldn't be dying to fight Jones if I were in Alex's shoes. But if the UFC heads were like we really need you to $$ step up $$ and fight Jones on 4 weeks notice, I would have probably accepted it.
Even if he would lose. Just charge it to the game. And then he would know how to better prepare himself for the next time.

This is EXACTLY what I thought upon hearing of the Aldo injury almost instantly after Edgar was named Koch's replacement..
Aldo isn't stupid and he damn sure wasn't gonna go through w/ this bout on short notice.
IMO Edgar's gonna snatch that belt regardless if Aldo has a full training camp or not..
