Now hear me out before you flame me guys, looking at chucks win loss record got me thinking. His fight with Rampage in UFC for the LHW was the firs time in he loss since fighting Rampage in pride. He went 7-0 after that then loss to Page by Ko, loss to Jardine (split dec), Lost to Rashad by ko, lost to Rua via tko, lost to Franklin by Ko. Could Rampage be the one that became the icebreaker to the Iceman?

He's fought 5 times since losing to rampage, So I would have to say Rampage did not end his carreer, based on the millions of dollars chuck liddell has made since losing to rampage.

Yea but had he not been knocked out how many more fights might he have won? Yea that is a question that cant be answered but i think it had alot to do with him rapidly going down hill.

My words of ending his career where a bit off I meant more along the lines is did Rampage break the solid jaw that before that we all knew chuck had. His second time losing to Page it seemed like after that everyone knew his ko button except for Jardine and Silva.

No when Pide came over the real top LHWs came voer and Chuck couldnt fair with them. It was the fighters UFC avoided for years but Rua, Lil Nog and Rampage would easily dispense of Chuck in Chucks glory days.

The Rashad Evans fought ended Chuck Liddell's career.

i've always been curious about people always saying chuck had a great chin. i think the guys that have ko'd him are guys you would expect to be able to ko most people(except maybe rich). i mean it's not like jeremy horn, tito or randy ko'd him. he's been flattened by guys like rampage, shogun, etc. i think the shot rashad landed would've crushed most. i just never thought chuck had an extraordinary chin. i mean the guy got hurt by vernon white.

That's just it. The UFC's LHW division was stocked with grapplers. Chuck's sprawl n brawl style was perfect. Regardless of whether he had a great chin or a terrible chin he wasn't getting KO'd by Randy, Tito, Babalu or Horn. For all we know he was always susceptible to the big shot.

This is blasphemy!
No one ended Chuck career. When that time comes, it will be Chuck who ends his own career.

Wrong. Chuck still wants to fight. Franklin ended his career with that last KO. Dana refuses to even give the guy a fight at this point. Chuck doesn't want his career to be over, it is over. That is not Chuck ending his own career; Franklin left him KO'd once again and Dana decided he had seen enough of Chuck laying unconscious in the octagon.

If that were the case, then why has Dana White not simply cut Chuck? if it's no longer up for discussion, wouldn't that be the move if Chuck hadn't come out and said he was retiring? It'll be over when Chuck says it's over. Now shut your mouth!

:? My bad RP. Dana has said he will not cut Chuck, but he also said he will not be giving Chuck another fight. If Chuck wants to fight again he may have to leave the UFC on his own accord. If he was going to let him fight again why would he have not just put him up against Tito again? Tito is a guy who has a only slight chance of knocking him out, its a PPV he can sell, and a fight that both guys want. I will shut up now though.

Chuck ended Chuck's career by not evolving past his "I'm gonna knock um' out" game plan. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. FYI Chuck.... everybody's seen the footage and knows EXACTLY what you're going to do.

Right, because Dana White NEVER changes his mind. Who's to say a Liddell/Ortiz III fight can't still be set up. And if Chuck did decide to leave the UFC to fight again, provided that Dana doesn't give him another fight, then his career would still exist. So either way, you are wrong!

He wasn't really disrespecting Chuck but he was just pointing out that in this ever evolving sport you can't do the same thing and win every time. As much as the Chuck lovers may not like this Chuck became very one dimensional. He wanted to keep every fight standing and hardly ever took it to the ground and if he was taken down he popped back up. Chuck was a counter striker and always looked for that over hand punch which after watching this guys highlight reel from every fight it was apparent that is what he was always looking for. Once he started fighting competition with decent chins that didn't work anymore. (Rampage sure he may have been ko'd but look at all the shots it took to put his lights out 905 of fighters past present or future would have been ko'd by those shots by silva quite possibly even faster.)

He was, the Liddell/Franklin fight was a prime example. I have heard only great things about how Chuck looked, before the KO and how he was changing his game up. While he could evolve more, he has been evolving, just not at the same pace as the fight game.
