Obviously Cat had a very bad start against Rousey and was caught early. One could easily argue that no matter Cat's gameplan, she would have succumbed to Rousey's skills eventually. However, I can't help but feel that Cat could have started off a little more intelligently and made more of a fight out of it. So me being a fan of Cat, I wouldn't mind seeing this one again. Maybe after Cat fights again. Possibly a rematch with Meisha or something.

Absolutely not. She's in the same exact position McMann, Davis and Kaufman are in. They lost quickly and easily. You can be a fan of Cat and she can work her way up again but no rematch. There's nothing that Cat has shown me (or any logical MMA fan) that says she has the ability to beat Rousey again at this time. She got caught like they all do. You have 3 or 4 women in line (not including Cyborg because of the weight):
Correia
Eye
Holm
Reneau
But even those women listed still need to beat a top 10 fighter. Listen, most fans like Cat and want to root for her but she's in worse shape than Gustaffson and he had to go to the back of the line. Same applies for Zingano.

I think Holm needs somebody else. Since Rousey is leaving to film another movie the number 1 contender fight should be Correia vs. Eye at UFC 189.

It was only a straight arm lock but it was in the worst position against the very best arm specialist in the land. It could happen again of course and Ronda could take an arm bar again.

The UFC knows Ronda works best as a co-headliner who can save a card if need be.
I'm done paying for cards like this one. There was excitement, but we get plenty of excitement for free. I need stakes.
If Cat gets beat this quick, there is no one else on the roster that is going to do anything. Maybe someone going in for a rematch, who's already gotten some measure of Ronda, can push her past the first the way Miesha did in their second fight. But I'm not interested in whether someon can survive 3 rounds instead of 1.
Ronda has already demolished the top 5 in her divisions. From here on in any fresh faces stand even less of a chance.
The cyborg fight I'll pay for. That's about it.

Im still trying to wrap my head around why on earth you'd pull a move that could land you out of balance and in front of Ronda. Yeah, she had enough foresight to go for the headlock hip toss, but you're still landing on the ground in a scramble with Ronda. It is Fedor jumping into Werdums guard stupid. Yes, but there is no reason to rush this especially considering Rousey is leaving for a bit and things need to play out in that division. You have 5 logical options in that division but they need to start breaking into the top 10. What most are asking now is to essentially have Rousey start fighting unranked contenders which is ridiculous. Cat can get a rematch as soon as she works on her TDD and starts watching tape of her opponents.

if it was a regular division (not even a stacked one) I'd say at LEAST 4 wins 2 vs up and comers, 1 v top 10, 1 vs top 5 opponents

I'd like to see it because I really do think she can give Ronda a much better fight than anyone else in that division.
However that was such a disaster on Saturday, she needs to win a couple of fights to get back there. You can't go out there and do that an expect to get the call again right away.
Although it's almost better for her that she did lose this way. If she did fight for 2-3 minutes and actually got a chance to try to implement some offense and then got armbarred (still the most likely outcome), then what could she say. She got beat like everyone else. But that was really a non-fight. A terrible tactical decision and a moment of crazy skill from Ronda, bam, instant finish.
But the mental game is as much a part of fighting as the physical. And Kat admitting she doesn't watch tape and going in with such a terrible game plan tells me she wasn't anywhere where she needed to be mentally. So maybe she got exactly what she deserved. You have to combine the mentals with the physical. That's why Ronda is top notch... she does that to the extreme.
As a fan, I want to see RR fight Betch, or Eye first. Preferably Beth.
P'haps a Meisha/Cat rematch might be a cool fight to see who deserves another crack at the strap.

Yeah I don't see any other way they can go unless Cyborg suddenly becomes a reality. They'll co-main her against Beth I think... at least Beth has been talking s--- about her. That an angle right? Right???

I agree but don't you feel like she should be punished a bit for the stupidity? At least a one or two fight comeback is needed I think.

I had a feeling she'd rush in like that, but you know, you can't blame her for going in aggressively - I mean, how else are you supposed to approach Ronda?
I'm a big Cat fan, I'd love to see an immediate rematch. She knows she f---ed up.
