Fitch goin to this fight doesnt have a whole lot to gain if he doesnt finish. He is the 2nd best at 70 as far as winning fights and is GSP toughest fight to win 3 of 5 rds.Penn is very dangeous with his ability to finish fights but if Fitch is going to finish a big name fighter BJ is the perfect opponent. BJ has suspect cardio and Fitch will have pressure on him for sure,If BJ doest get his mog blow or move in rd 1 Fitch could break his will and get a finish .So i think BJ is a perfect opponent to make a statement.

I say Fitch gets HUGE props if he could dominate the entire fight or finish penn, but if he sits on Penn, nothing earned.

Disagreed slightly. Because GSP is probably vacating, the WW division suddenly thins out at the top. GSP leaves, Shields will have just lost, Koscheck was just beaten, and Fitch just beat Alves. Even Fitch sitting on BJ for 3 rounds will have him probably getting the title shot. I could be wrong as Dana clearly has disdain for him and might do anything to keep him from getting the shot if he's not devastating enough, but there really aren't a lot of options if Fitch wins.

Fitch has a lot to gain in this fight if BJ walks out looking mean and talking to himself. That might make it so the BJ fans can't say "It wasn't the 'good' version of bj" as easily. The other big factor that gives Fitch a lot in this fight is obviously Penn's name recognition.

Beating a legend, and getting a title shot. I'd say thats a pretty significant gain.

I'm not sure because of the way you wrote that, but it appears to me you're saying Fitch gave GSP the the toughest fight, with GSP winning 3 of the 5 rounds. if so, that's incorrect on the scoring - Fitch lost all 5 rounds against GSP. 2 judges giving at least one 10-8 round and one judge giving St Pierre two 10-8 rounds. (50-43, 50-44, 50-44)
But you're right, if either fighter can stop the other or put on an impressive display even going to a decision, it'll put either one in title contention after the Shields/GSP fight. A lame duck win by either and I think we'll see possibly Condit in the lead.
And GSP isn't going to vacate. Not unless he has a lobotomy....

fighting BJ hell yeah!!!!! he has a lot more to gain than fighting Condit.......................BJ is a legend BJ is a former WW champ, BJ just KO Matt Hughes in 21 Secs
and he also has a title shot to gain

He definitely has more to lose than to gain here.

This and not much more, which I think is why (regardless of whether he believes it himself) he's been talking so much about becoming a legend by beating a legend, etc.

he could be the guy that retired BJ Penn.
i can't see anywhere for BJ to go if he loses this one, unless they'll give him a MW shot right away.

you're blowing smoke out your ***.
there is no reason to believe you over dana and gsp, who both have said if he beats shields the fight with anderson will happen.
you saying it won't happen really means nothing compared to them saying it will happen.
that's why fans usually wait to hear what dana and his fighters have to say, and hardly any wait to hear what you have to say

As long as GSP is the Welterweight Champion, and as long as Fitch continues to not finish people, then he has nothing to gain. If he finishes Penn, its a title shot regardless of who is the Welterweight Champion. If GSP leaves and he beats BJ by decision, then you will most likely see him fighting for the vacated Welterweight Championship.

Wrong, GSP hasn't confirmed this fight at all. He's responded to talks by saying that he isn't looking past Shields, and if he did move up to MW, it would be permanent and would have to be at the right time in his career. However, he has yet to give a timetable as to when he'll make the move, and has yet to confirm that he will take the fight if he beats Shields.
But it's not the first time you're wrong about something. How about you not try to disrespect everyone you quote like a douchebag?

I kinda feel bad for Fitch.
He's already proven in his last two matches - that he is the #1 contender. IMO, GSP should be facing Fitch again, not Shields. If anything, Shields vs Fitch is what we should have had as a #1 contender match.
Fitch has nothing to win here except another notch on his belt, which I am pretty much certain he will accomplish. BJ is gonna get tooled HARD.

Fitch has alot to gain if GSP moves up, because it would give him a fresh chance to fight for the title.

Fitch has fought only two truly elite WW's, Alves and GSP (Thiago and Sanchez are solid victories, but those guys aren't elite level WW's). He dominated Alves and got dominated by GSP. Beating another truly elite fighter will do a lot for his resume in general.
