Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone will get back in action on May 15 against the master of thugjitsu Yves Edwards when they meet at UFC on Fuel 3.
The event on May 15 was originally rumored to be a UFC on FX event, but as announced on UFC Tonight Tuesday evening the card was confirmed as a UFC on Fuel show instead.
UFC Tonight also announced the new lightweight fight for the card.
Cerrone will look to get back on a winning track when he returns in May after a tough loss to Nate Diaz last December.
Up to that point, Cerrone had been on a tear through the UFC’s lightweight division with wins over names like Dennis Siver and Charles Oliveira.
Now Cerrone will face one of the most veteran fighters in the UFC as he takes on Yves Edwards in May.
Edwards will also try to rebound from a loss in his last bout after dropping a decision to former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ winner Tony Ferguson.
The loss puts Edwards at 1-2 in his last three fights, and will hopes to even up his record when he faces ‘Cowboy’ in May.

My prediction will be everyone will say this has foreworks written all over it but Cerrone will take edwards down and submit him in the first round.

Quite the step down but Yves is solid is everything he does. Cerrone by first round finish.

this seems like its more a fight because cerrone must want back in the cage asap and theres no contenders available?
I like yves but dropping 2 of last 3 i wouldnt have guessed they would let him fight cerrone.
