Guilherme Cruz said:
Rafael dos Anjos hopes to meet TJ Grant when he returns to the Octagon in 2014.
Following a unanimous-decision victory over Donald Cerrone, the Brazilian lightweight believes a win over Grant would put him closer to a shot at UFC gold.
"One more win and I should fight for the title," dos Anjos told MMAFighting.com. "I won my last five fights. I’m in the UFC for five years, so I deserve a shot at the title after my next win."
Grant is still recovering from a concussion, which first caused him to pull out of an Aug. 31 title shot against then-champion Ben Henderson, then forced him out of a Dec. 14 bout with new champion Anthony Pettis. Dos Anjos thinks he already lost the right to fight for the title.
"T.J. had two title shots and got injured twice," he said. "I think it’s too little for him now, I believe it would be fair if he has to do another fight first, and a fight against me makes sense. It would be a good fight, and I would be one step closer to the title.
"I had some little injures to heal so I didn’t train too much recently," he continued. "I’m training harder now, but they didn’t say anything about my next fight yet. I believe my next fight will be between January and February."
If dos Anjos’ plans works as he expects, he would get a shot at the gold against the winner of Anthony Pettis vs. Josh Thomson, who meet at UFC on FOX 9.
"I don’t know much about Josh Thomson, but Anthony Pettis is the favorite," he said. "He’s younger, is doing great in his last fights. I’d bet on Pettis."
Rafael dos Anjos is 9-4 under the UFC banner, but hasn’t lost since Nov. 2011. Looking to add the sixth straight win to his undefeated streak, the jiu-jitsu black belt sees his style as the perfect one to beat Pettis.
"I wouldn’t let him get comfortable in the cage," he said. "I would do the right strategy, closing the distance. After what I saw in his loss to Clay Guida, that’s the game to beat him. I would impose my strategy. That’s the key to win this fight, don’t let him like the fight.
"Things are going great now. It’s a matter of time before. My time will come."

I think both have made massive improvements in the stand up, but I feel like Grant has a little bit more edge in that area lately. Both strengths are on the ground, however I feel like this fight will be mostly contested on the feet, with Grant winning a UD IMO....

If Grant takes a fight now, I think it should be against Nurmagomedov instead of dos Anjos.

Good on Dos Anjos for calling someone out, but maybe he shouldn't talk about losses to clay Guida, pretty sure he got stomped by Clay Guida.

this fight makes all the sense in the world,
both fighters are not really known to the masses and this could be the fight that will get one of them some welcome attention,
the winner no doubt gets a title shot

I believe his jaw was broken in the 1st. And RDA was beating Clay up the feet but just kept getting taken down and ultimately tapped to shoulder pressure on that broken jaw. RDA is a very different and much more dangerous fighter (Especially working on his wrestling at Calvary Chapel with Jacob Harman)I'd say because of that fight. Just cause Clay also beat him doesn't mean that RDA can't use the same strategy that Clay did on another fighter. He's got the ground game to do so.
RDA should fight Gil with a win this weekend and TJ can fight Khabib.

Grant has earned a title shot, he should fight the Pettis/Thomson winner. I would like to see RDA against Khabib next

Except for the fact that RDA knocks out TJ Grant 8 times out of 10. The other 2 times he submits him.

I'm serious. Dos Anjos has been running through people while TJ Grant has been too fragile to even step into the cage.

Running through people? he was a bad match up for Cerrone(called that) and he got a Brazilian decision vs Dunham.

cant really agree with coffee, but I thougth he beat Dunham, and Cerrone was starting to get him in the third. Grant hasnt shown cardio issues and would destroy RDA if it went to a third.

I thought Dunham controlled the fight and landed more than dos Anjos but you may not agree with me. Now you do agree that Coffee's post was idiotic. RDA's only knockout win was against G-Sot and that's not very impressive nowadays. To think he will knockout Grant, who is the better striker with more power 8 times out of 10 is just ridiculous.
Grant knocks out RDA 9 times out of 10, the other time he breaks his hand and settles for a decision.

87 percent of the time, Grant injures himself walking to the cage half the time.

You guys just wanna drink Grant's man juice so bad. If it makes you feel better, I think he would've beaten Pettis 8.5 out of 10 times.

I read all this an in long version made short, yes Clay Guida stomped him. Breaking someones jaw and forcing him to submit due to that injury, to me, is the definition of stomping someone.
Winning Rounds<Breaking someones jaw.
