http://www.mmamania.com/2014/5/12/5...a-stolen-seller-insists-purchased-storage-mma
So apparently this guy obtained a bunch of Tito's memorabilia through a legit source (similar to buying a container full of stuff from a storage-wars type yard, when the originally owner of the container hasn't made payments), however, Tito goes on record to say this stuff has actually been stollen and the dude is trying to sell it on illegally.
P.S -
Tito has called out the containing unit manager..
the dude who's selling his stuff
and T-pain, just for good measure.
The 4-way fight is set for sometime in November.
Tito will apparently fight under the nickname of 'The peoples God' (he got promoted from champion).

He wants $3,000 for all the stuff. Tito could just buy it back is all I am saying
It may have been stolen originally by hte guy who stopped paying for the storage locker, but if he did not file a report at the time then he must not have been too worried about it.
Just seems like something that could be resolved pretty quickly/quietly without all the media.

Tito doesn't have to buy it back if he filed a police report - it's his swag. Regardless of how far the seller is from the original thief, the seller's rights to the property are exactly that of the original thief's, i.e., none.
Void title ain't worth bupkus.

It's Tito. Do you really need any more of an explanation than that at this point?

@Flound, if there was a police report then it is Tito's and shoudl go back, I agree with that. The story as presented was ambiguos on the matter. It read kind of like a guy bought some stuff adn went to sell it, and that is when Tito said it was stolen; If it was stolen and reported all he shodul have to do is direct the police to the seller and wait. Stuff back, no money spent.
If Tito left a bunch of stuff in a storage locker and forgot about it/stopped paying fees, then it is abadnoned property.
With the only information being some Internet noise it is hard to say what is actually going on.

pretty sure you sign a contract when you rent one of those storage lockers thats gives the people who own the lockers the right to sell your s--- if you dont pay

That wouldn't matter if the stuff was stolen, and then the thief put it in a storage locker and didn't pay. It would still be Tito's stolen goods, even if the newest buyer obtained it appropriately through a storage sale.
But I suspect as usual Tito is full of s--- and just didn't pay his storage bill.

Kinda like when a pawnshop buys stolen stuff. It can be taken from them to be given to the rightful owner. And they lose out on the money they paid.

If it can be proven that it was stolen. In this case if Tito didn't file a police report for "box of random s--- missing" I doubt he can get it back.

I'm glad you agree with the law. I'm sure your life goes much more smoothly as a result.

Not really. The article presented two potentially conflicting claims. It's premature as to which or even if both are truthful, but the claims themselves are quite unambiguous.
It read kind of like a guy bought some stuff and went to sell it, and that is when Tito said it was stolen;

Actually it read like a guy bought a storage locker and wanted to sell the contents and Tito claimed it was stolen from his home. We have no idea if that's when Tito first declared it stolen.
If it was stolen and reported all he shodul have to do is direct the police to the seller and wait. Stuff back, no money spent.

Thanks. I had no idea how property retrieval and return functioned. It was a gaping chasm in my body of knowledge.
