Budo Jake and the Budo videos crew make their way to the Orpheaum theather in downtown LA to meet with Eddie Bravo to discuss the specifics of EBI 3.
Eddie Bravo on his vision for EBI
Eddie Bravo and where he sees EBI in 5 to 10 years
Eddie Bravo on the mindset of a points vs a sub only competitor
Eddie Bravo What the viewer should expect for EBI 3
Eddie Bravo Radio, Eddie Bravo Invitational. Clearly, the man is in love with himself. He should have called it Bravo Jiu Jitsu "The Real BJJ" instead of 10th Planet JJ...
Been watching the matches online. I started a jiu jitsu hipster thread in OT after I watched. Lots of monsters but super super hipster. Foot lock, heel hook graveyard. Garry Tonon is the baddest dude around, IMO the best grappler competing today. I really like the EBI tourneys and hope more people challenge the IBJJF in grappling competitions around the country.
Eddie Cummings on how he got invited to EBI 3 - 3 of 4
Published on Mar 4, 2015
Eddie is a relatively new black belt and not too well known on the west coast. He's done well in some recent competitions and his name is gaining traction. Up next for him is to be part of the 16 man pro tournament spearheaded by Eddie Bravo.
Karen Darabedyan How did you get invited to EBI 3
Published on Mar 9, 2015
Many may not know Karen Darebedyan but he's been in and around the local LA grappling circuit for a few years as well as had MMA experience with a short stint in the WEC.
With a name like Karen I'll bet...
He grew up quick and he grew up mean.
His fists got hard and his wits got keen.
Some girl would giggle and he'd get Red.
Some guy would laugh and he'd bust his head.

: Garry Tonon Semi Final Match
Published on Jan 29, 2015
Here's throwback fight of Garry Tonon's semi final match for EBI 1.
For all the young bloods newer to MMA/BJJ, as a brown belt Eddie Bravo took on Royler Gracie in the 2003 ADCC quarterfinal match. His performance and unique rubber guard provided a springboard for his 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu.
Check out his match if you have never seen it (for those with limited time, fast forward to the 5:00 mark where most of the transitions begin)

EBI Submission grappling hilight - EBI 3 March 22 2015 Live on PPV!
Published on Mar 19, 2015
It's that time again! Eddie Bravo Invitational is back with a third event this Sunday, March 22 at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.
This time, there will be one division of 16 specially selected welterweights that will battle it out, and the winner takes home up to $10,000! Among these 16 competitors is Garry Tonon, who will be defending his EBI Welterweight Champion title. With a prize like this, submission only format, and rules that leave no mercy for stalling - you can bet it's going to be one insane night of grappling. There will also be three teen superfights. Young 10th Planet prodigies are flying in from out of state to take on three of the best teen grapplers in the country.
EBI starts at 4pm Pacific Time at the Orpheum in downtown LA.

I enjoy watching JJ matches online, but do not follow the sport to the point where I know guys by name, other than the really, really big names.
So, for those of you who do follow the sport closely, what is the talent level like in this tournament? Like, are these guys some of the top guys in the world, or a bunch of relatively unknowns, or somewhere in between?
