MMAWeekly
UFC featherweight fighter Eddie Yagin has been forced out of his scheduled bout with Dennis Siver at UFC on Fox 5 due to a serious injury that has landed him in the hospital with swelling around his brain.
The problem started on Saturday after a usual day of training, Yagin’s manager, Jason House, told MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday.
“He came home after practice, had a headache, started to vomit whatever liquids he drank and then decided to go to the ER the next day,” said House, adding that nothing out of the ordinary had occurred in training. Yagin hadn’t been knocked out or suffered from any particularly hard blows or anything of the sort.
House stressed that he has yet to converse with Yagin’s doctors himself, but expects that Yagin will be in the hospital for at least the next few days to monitor his condition.
Yagin scored his first victory in the Octagon at UFC 145 earlier this year with a split decision win over Mark Hominick, one of the top fighters in the weight class.
He is now 1-1 during his UFC tenure, and had been looking forward to challenging himself against Dennis Siver at UFC on Fox 5 in Seattle, but that is obviously off the table.
House said they will wait to talk with Yagin’s medical team to try and figure out exactly what happened and why before addressing his fighting future.

That really sucks, I've been looking forward to seeing Siver fight again. Hopefully they can get him a new opponent or schedule him to fight someone else at another upcoming card as soon as possible.

My list of possible opponents for Siver if they keep him in the card:
Marcus Brimage
Mike Brown
Manny Gamburyan
Rani Yahya
Rony Jason
Nam Phan
Max Holloway
Dennis Bermudez
Robbie Peralta
Matt Grice

Might this mean he was sparring without headgear?

Personally I would like to see him fight someone ranked higher, like Max Holloway or Rony Jason. He looked really good in his 145 debut against Nunes and I think he deserves a big opponent.

Brimage may still be hurting from the house fire he got caught in.

I didn't even know about this.
If Siver is to stay on the card, wouldn't mind seeing him fight Robbie Peralta. Dude is carrying serious momentum right now, and deserves a step up.

Well we got it right, it's Phan. Although I listed 10 people, so it's not like I nailed it exactly
