He wouldn't do any better in SF or Bellator's LW divisions.
He'll be done soon enough. His style his to wide open and he doesn't have anything special(sub's, ko's) that makes him dangerous beyond just being a fighter.
3-2 in the ufc deems releasing? i figured they would've kept a tuf champ a little longer kinda like mac danzig when he wasnt doing so hot. are any lightweights from season 8 on the roster anymore?
That sucks man. I dont know for what reason, but I was a fan of the guy. I guess Krystofalofagus and Lawlor should be released soon enough then. I would have figured that the UFC would have kept him for the expansion to Mexico considering he is actually Mexican where as Cain is American.
Guy steps up and takes a new opponent on short notice. Yeah he missed weight (First time ever iirc), he didnt make any excuses and he gets cut. Danzig lost what, 3 in a row?
Escudero is 3-2 in the UFC, this is a mistake, hes 24 years old.

Danzig is still in the UFC by default. He was going to lose that fight with Wiman and was in a position he wasn't getting out of or attempting to get out of.
Yves Lavigne, i believe, staved off his release by 1 fight.
I'm on the fence on this one. The UFC has the pick of the world-wide litter when it comes to new fighters, and if you want to develop and test them they have to fight. They're no longer in a position to keep guys around taking up space and not climbing the ladder. Plus, there will be a few good LWs coming off this season and they'll have to promote and test them.
Sucks for Efrain, but he didn't live up to expectations. If he works hard he'll be back. He's young.
well i made in that time when he lost a thread about if he was going to be the first tuf winner (not name Lutter since he was a vet and tuf 4 is diferent) to be out of the UFC and well according to this news i was right about it.
it was not just the lost, not making weight something that upset dana alot has to do with his cut.
i agree that he will not do better in SF since the LW division is very good
bellator made more sense for him, a tournament and they can provide him with a tune fight in this 3 season, but SF or Bellator can score good adding Efrain and i am not talking about the talent aspect, he might not be a great or one of the best prospects free agents in the LW division but he is a mexican and i can told you this since i live in guatemala and i see in mexico that MMA has growing alot and efrain is one of the most follow on that country, mexicans are very loyal and spend alot to follow his hometown people and efrain receive a huge cover around mexicans media and guys, in fact televisa sports one of the main reasons to get the ufc plan was to follow his figthers. Bellator or SF getting Efrain in his roster will help them to build a market in mexico for sure, so for that it will be a good addition for both promotions and no wonder he alredy is in talks with both

Bellator would make the most sense if it's about market though.
I do agree that others should have gone before Escudero. His only losses were against 2 rising stars in Dunham and Oliveria(sp?)... and in both fights went deep into the fight.
Especially with guys like Baroni and Davis and others on the roster who are just getting their a**es handed to them.
Amir, Danzig, Grove, Wilks... now that Escudero's gone, it will be easier to drop them.
It doesnt make sense that he got cut. He has 1 loss streak to a guy thats very good. It doesnt make sense especially when he beat Cole Miller not too long ago
Not one person from the lightweights on tuf 8 are still in the UFC. First time for that. This is a strange cut, but Dana must have not liked him too much and of course the weight issue.
both guys he lost to appear to be huge prospects. specially duhnam. after a win, it just doesnt make sense to me. the only thing that i can see as a reason would be because efrain didnt do anything in that fight. but i mean, its evident why he couldnt. this olivera kid was so difficult to time. and was the better fighter. this was a really short notice fight. i dunno... too bad, i was on this guys bandwagon pretty hard. n while i did fall off by his last performance, i still was looking forward to many more fights inside the octagon from him

im bothered by it because if they cut him the danzig should have been cut long ago
