Found on a closed road in Glacier National Park
A mountain goat and mountain lion fell to their deaths.
Mountain goat and lion found dead on a closed road in Glacier National park. It seems they both fell to their deaths when the cougar attacked the goat far up on the cliffs out of sight and to the right.
The goat hit so hard it knocked the sheath of the horn completely off.
Looking closely, you can see the lion still has tufts of fur from the mountain goat in its mouth
Not sure if this happened from the mountain lion or the fall, but 'ouch'
Fairly sure the compound fracture happened from the fall
Not the great perspective, but that's a drop with not much soft to land on.

In skydiving, we refer to these incidents as 'Meadow Muffins' or "Homemade Strawberry Jam'.
Splat!
Technically, I guess this one would be more aptly referred to as a 'Pavement Pancake'.
