Just a thread to kill some boredom. Can't remember if this thread has already been done. If there are better movies feel free to post them.

I liked Marv the best, but didn't really like Clive Owen... definitely a great movie.

I picked The Watchmen but was close with The Dark Knight.

I voted for Star Trek for the simple fact that I had never watched Star Trek anything before and it was amazing

Now, we're talking my language.
Dark Knight didn't really do it for me. Good movie, but I do not wallow in the greatness that is TDK like many people. I'm not sure what it was...it was out for a while before I saw it so maybe it got overhyped for me. I also was never a Batman comic fan (I was Marvel and not D.C.). It was on HBO recently and I rewatched it, but I have the same opinion. I thought Batman Begins was superior; that was a great movie.
But I voted for Star Trek (I'm a huge Trekkie and the series needed exactly this -- a fresh look and cast), Iron Man (just a great movie and I did read this comic in the 80s) and X-men (I think this is by far the best Marvel adaptation to date).
I'm glad to see the Fantastic Four not on the list. This was my favorite comic growing up, they got into big, epic story lines involving dimensions, galaxies, save-the-earth (and occasionally the "multiverse") type stuff. It was a fairly serious comic, but a bit of comic relief thrown in mainly by The Thing. The movies have been an abortion. Alba is the only thing that has made them watchable.
Spider-man was probably my second favorite comic. The movies have been good, but I just think X-men developed better as a series, at least until the last one. The way the Phoenix was underused in The Last Stand was criminal. She was such a force during her story arc in the comics in the 80s, and in the movie she just stands around and looks confused the whole time, and ocassionally vaporizes someone without moving a muscle. Hooray.
I'm not as down on the Hulk movies as most people. I am one of the three or four people on the planet who like Ang Lee's version (the first one) better than the newer one with Ed Norton.

Huge Batman fan growing up so I'm biased, but Dark Knight was sick. Batman Begins was good, but didn't top Burton's masterpiece to me, Dark Knight did. Plus Ledger's performance was worth every bit of praise it got, better than Jack's from the original. However, Watchmen did make me think about it and honestly if 300 would've been on there, well... that movie is just too awesome to vote against!
Marvel stuff was good at first, but now they are ruining it. Last Spiderman was a disgrace and Last Stand was average (Wolverine Origins was okay). I'm still a fan of both Hellboy flicks though, even if they aren't the best movies, gotta love Pearlman!

I gotta go with Star Trek. I'm also a big Trekker and I was really worried when I read they were doing a "prequel" to Star Trek, but they were able to put in a convincing story line and tweak things just right so that there will be no conflicts with the original series. Playing with the idea of different futures was definitely the way to go to breath new life into this Sci-Fi icon.
I may be the only person on the planet to think that Dark Knight sucked. Maybe not "sucked" but I just didn't see what the big fuss was about. I watched it twice but can't tell you why I didn't care for it cause I can't remember. It was that forgettable.
X-men part one was pretty good but part 2 was awful. My biggest problem with X-Men was the casting. Although Hugh Jackman does a decent job as Wolverine, I still say he is way too tall. That was always the cool thing about Wolverine is that he was shorter than most super heroes but he was still the most dangerous. They should have cast someone more like Mark Walberg or Steven Zahn although neither one of them has the right voice. Halle Berry has never been strong enough to play someone as powerful as Storm. She's just too lithe and looks it. Taraji P. Henson has a more grounded screen presence IMO. The rest were pretty good except Cyclops, but that's just cause he looks like he's 15 yr old.
It's hard to screw up Spider Man, but I don't like that chick who plays Mary Jane. Other than that I think Rami does a great job.
I too like the Ang Lee Hulk best.

What's your favorite recent comic con type movie?
I picked the first three because of the word "recent" above.
Star Trek
Generic villain but topnotch entertainment. Uhuuuuuraaaaa!!!
The Watchmen
Awesomely twisted. Rorschach rules!
Iron Man
Sharp rendition. Loved the terrorist-killing scene.
Hellboy
Del Toro and Perlman can do no wrong together. Always a fun ride.
Batman Begins
/
The Dark Knight
Solid movies but quite honestly the plots and characters are quickly forgotten except for Gordon and the Joker.
Spider Man/Spider Man 2
"One" was a intro story. "Two" was fleshed out much better. Enjoyed the train battle. I really believe they can start kicking *** again if they do a good Lizard story next.
Sin City
Awesomely twisted. Marv rules!
X-Men/X-Men 2
"One" was a intro story. "Two" was fleshed out much better. The whole Magneto jailbreak ranks as of the best sequences ever! One can only hope for some sexy Kitty Pride scenes in the future. Actually, I hope the Magneto movie is done well.

Brick Brick Brick the Xmen series are a mess. Wolverine Origins ruined Deadpool. Youre right Xmen underused Jean Grey/Phoenix character. As wells Colossas and Cyclops. Cyclops died way to early and they could have done a better job casting him. The casting overall was bad. They nailed Prof.X, Magneto, Beast and Jean Grey.
Todays movie audience isnt ready for how complex The Fantastic Four really is. Boom boom t--- and *** bright colors on fire is what people want they dont want to think or consider other galaxies and dimensions.
The Spiderman series is really hard to watch!
The Hellboy movies are the most creative.
The Hulk movies arent that bad. Its like I told my little brother you have to take the movies for what they are.
I would like to see a serious take of The Fantastic Four done on HBO. If you have a an idea for a tv series that HBO should do let us know.
My aunt is a Trekkie, so I am a part time fan. I really liked the new movie.
IMO, Ironman is the best adaption so far. Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker and The Dark KNight was a good movie but Ironman shows so much promise as a series.

+1 on Deadpool and they even got Ryan Reynolds to play him, so what's the deal?! Such a BA character, way to screw it up Hollywood.
Ironman was great, but the whole re-casting of Terence Howard for the sequel irritates me. How is he not a good actor for the War Machine role? (probably a $$$ thing)

Sin City- Marv is way to sick not to pick that one.
The Dark Knight- One of the best movies ever made.
X-men 2- 1 was all right and 3 utterly sucked but the 2nd was just awesome.

I agree that they ruined deadpool in the movie, but i thought casting ryan reynolds (who im not a huge fan of) was a good choice.
As for the hulk, i like Ed norton as the hulk but i liked the story of the first movie better.
When spiderman first came out i was excited, but i wasnt very impressed by them at all. They werent bad movies, but i would rate them near the bottom of the above list.
Iron man and The dark knight sit about even for me, but i choose dark night because the joker character was done perfectly. Had ledger not died, this could have become the best comic book series ever.
Star trek is also up there. I have always disliked the shows but once i saw this movie i was in love. They did a really really really good job.

I chose Ironman. I don't know wtf I was thinking by not seeing that movie in theaters... it was awesome. I also really liked the incredible hulk w\ edward norton, despite my criticism about how they just remade it a few years before that w\ eric banna.
wolverine was pretty good, dark night was good ( saw twice in theaters because my sister hadn't seen it )
watchmen sucked... i never read the comic books and was expecting an action movie and ended up w\ a long drawn out bore fest.

Robert D Jr was awesome here
Dark Knight
the best superhero films I seen, Heath Ledger brought the Joker alive
Star Trek
