Pretty boy Floyd says he wants to take a few years off:
Mayweather: "At this particular time, Floyd Mayweather is taking probably a year off, a couple of years off from the sport of boxing. I don't really know what the future holds for me at this particular time, but you know, I'll probably take a few years off."
I hate when people talk in the third person.
Funny this happens after Pacquiao agrees to take the Olympic style drug testing Mayweather was requesting. Probably really jealous of the attention Pacquiao was getting after he received the Fighter of Decade Award from the Boxing Writers Association of America.
Mayweather = b---- and best defensive boxer ever. Always gonna be ranked number 2 Money.

Hard to argue with an undefeated record of 41-0; like it or not.
And Pac-Man didn't completely agree to Olympic style testing from what I have heard.

I don't think anyone is gonna dispute his record, who would. Mayweather is by far the best defensive boxer that ever lived. Lighting quick too.
Only problem I have with him, is the style his father and him came up with to exploit the rules. Punch punch clinch. Because of his speed he can just keep doing this like he does and barely get hit. I think the Pac man can equal his speed but in the end Floyd will probably come out on top.
I figure this talk about retiring is probably more psychological warfare against Pacquiao or just a way to make more money by getting the promoters to pay more for him to box.
He must be so choked for not winning that award. I wish I could of watched his reaction to losing. I dectect hints of Kanye West.

And what exactly is wrong with exploiting the rules, as I personally do not see the problem?

Makes boxing boring. Boxing should be about punching not holding

Of course. He tries to look like the better person in the Pacman situation and when it starts to crumble he retires. Good riddance.

Did Manny really agree? Wow, hope PBF changes his mind, I really want to see that fight.

I thought the goal was to inflict as much damage upon your opponent while not taking damage yourself in order to display dominance in the event that you do not finish your opponent and the decision is left up to the judges.

He did not agree to follow Olympic style testing. From my understanding there were restrictions that Pac wanted implimented.

The only thing Pacman wouldn't do is give blood within a week of the fight.
Mayweather is scared of Pacman, simple as that.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Olympic Style Testing allows for fighters to be tested up to the day of the fight AND at random.
Pac wanted tests to be scheduled if I recall correctly.

Pacquiao agreed to have it done 24 days before the fight, but Mayweather insisted on 14. The other day, however, the Filipino superstar agreed to do it 14 days or even closer, but not on the day of the fight itself.
...
"I gave him (Pacquiao) a chance, up to 14 days out. But my new terms are all the way up to the fight. They can come get us whenever, all the way up to the fight, random drug test. That’s what it is," Mayweather was quoted as saying.
Now, unless Mayweather changes his mind, the fight is not likely to happen because Pacquiao said a couple of days ago that he’s willing to undergo blood tests as long as they’re not done so close to the fight.
"Huwag lang sa day ng fight (Just not on the day of the fight)," Pacquiao said.
...
When Mayweather fought Shane Mosley last May 1, the last ounce of blood (testing) from both fighters were drawn 18 and 19 days before the fight.

So I guess he agrees to it as long as it's not on the day of the fight. I don't know why they'd even consider drawing blood the day of.
Pacman just feels that giving blood weakens him, and won't give blood right before a fight. Even if it doesn't physically weaken him, it definately mentally weakens him since he thinks that.

I'm pretty sure he agreed to random testing up to a week before the fight, then right after.

I could be wrong about the random bit. Put when you put it that way, I can understand why Pacman doesn't want it being done so close to the fight. However, if that is the way Olympic Style Testing is done, then I can also understand Money's position.

I only watched boxing in the early days of MMA cuz you had to wait 2,3 somethimes 4 months before the next UFC. I've never seen Mayweather box but, I know he's talked trash about MMA & he said MMA was ghay due to all the rolling around on the ground in each others arms. I quit watching boxing cuz it just got so boreing watching guys punch, punch, clinch. Now, you guys are saying Mayweather is the king of the 1,2 jump into your opponents arms & hold him lovingly till the ref FORCES you to break the embrace. What a chump!!!!!!
An action packed boxing match where both guys stand & bang with the honest intention of getting the K.O. is just as good as MMA but, how often do you EVER see that? I can't wait for old man Coutore to put s--- talking Toney on his a$$ & GnP him to a bloody pulp.

Yes that is the goal but fighting is entertainment like every other sport out there. Pacquiao is loved by a nation while Mayweather isn't even liked by some of his family.

I hear you, but I've come to the conclusion that even in sports like boxing and MMA, I'm a little different. I want to know who the best is. The KO's and all that other trash are great, but I watch to see who the best is. And when you compete at a high level such as Mayweather and become the best, you aren't going to please everyone. My take is figure out what is more important to you, pleasing others or being the best.

Fair enough. Although, I don't recall the last time I did that.
All jokes aside, is there a particular aspect of my comment you would like me to remember in that regard?

I don't know if it's happened lately since he hasn't been in any news and I haven't been in the mma forum in a while but I remember it from his last fight sayig he was boring and LnP on hardy and stuff and here defending mayweather for the doing the same thing, fighting safe. I'm not gonna go post searching because 1) that's a b---- on am iPhone and 2) not stirring up trouble, as you're generally a thoughtful poster just calling you on this because I remember you openly bashing GSP haha
