According to TMZ.com he is no longer fighting. Who should he be replaced with?
Forrest Griffin -- one of the most popular fighters in the UFC -- is backing out of his fight later this month because of a bum shoulder ... TMZ has learned.
Sources tell us the former UFC light heavyweight champ's shoulder injury is serious enough that he won't be able to fight Lil' Nog on May 29 in Las Vegas.
The extent of Griffin's injury is unclear.

I actually saw this as a very competitive fight for both fighters. IMO, they seem to have 2 very similar styles. Even though Nog is much more superior on the ground. I have heard Griffin has great JJ and very good sub defense. I was really looking forward to this fight. Who could possibly take the match up? I can only think of Bader or Jones that are top 10 UFC LHW that do not have fights booked right now.

Thiago Silva has been booked to fight Tim Botech. I cant see the UFC giving Bader or Jones this fight at this point in their careers. Even though I would love to see Jones get the opportunity. If he does somehow get this fight, does he get an immediate title shot?!? I would have to say so.

Jones' fight is in the works, but as far as I know Bader, is available. Also a Luis Cane fight is in the works, but to my knowledge it has not yet been signed...

I dunno for real, but I do not think Forrest was too confident about this match up.

Maybe he is. Maybe he's not. Who cares. Griffin is an overrated fighter that has been artificially propped up by Dana and company.

I can see why Dana props him up, though. The dude did have a huge hand in saving the company from extinction.
I do agree he is wildly overrated though. Particularly now.

How does one become overratted on an MMA Forum?

Well only reason I posted this was due to my g/f asking me if I knew who a guy named Forrest was from the ufc. Plus I had heard they were getting news quicker than most sites...lol. I was really looking forward to this fight too. As I said earlier it was a battle of similar styles.

oh ya, beating Rampage, Shogun, Tito = overrated. Oh thats right, everyone in the UFC is overrated.

Beating Rampage was impressive, but beating an injured Shogun less so, imo.
Forrest seems like a good guy, he's likable and has a good tv personality. Funny guy. I'll always like him, but I don't see him ever being in a title fight again. The only thing going for him in that aspect is the win over Shogun. If Shogun beats Machida, they might give Forrest an easy path to a title shot and then sell it as "the big rematch".
