This would be an awesome fight, and both coming off dissapointing losses. They're very similar in the way that they are very well rounded, but really rely on cardio and outworking there opponents to win. It would suck because this a not a pickmeup fight for either of them, but a win over the other would pick them back up into the 205 frey.
What ya'll think?

Holyshyt! I forgot about Forrest!
Man I thought the Lightheavyweight division was gonna take a huge blow with Rampage outing out of that fight, and it did but with Couture coming down, Rich moving up, etc.. The LHD is in good shape.
And yeah... Forrest vs Franklin? Niiiice... But not a main event, a CO-main event.

My dad and I were talking about this matchup a couple of days ago. A very interesting fight. Forrest would definitely have the size advantage but Franklin has much better, much more polished skills than Forrest. Would love this fight.

Would be a very good fight. But I doubt that Forrest's career can handle a 3rd loss in a row, especially how the last two ended.

Would be a very good fight, but it would put the loser in a rough spot.
I think Forrest needs a can to get his confidence back first.

this should be made cmon joe silva !! forrest vs franklin is a hell of a matchup both guys can strike and have good ground game, neither has dangerous hands so it should be a good fight from start to finish all three rounds. Forrest needs a big win to get back to contention for his belt and if rich can pull away with a win he should be right up there with the top five or top ten atleast. I think griffin is top five i mean he had the belt before rashad evans tko him. I dont understand why rampage is top contendor when he lost to forrest it should rashad evans vs forrest griffin for the next shot at lyoto machida. Forrest hurt his chances at redemption by fightin anderson silva when he could of waited and fought a luiz cane or someone he can beat and get back to a title fight sooner. Rich Franklin needs to fight someone at light heavy he cant fight at catch weights anymore its a make believe division from the sounds of dana and company
no more weight divisions are gonna be made when they should be to help fill the gap at light heavy to heavyweight not from middle to light heavy then we can argue that welterweights cut too much and lightweights also. 155, 165,175,185,195,205,215,225,235, were do we stop ? I think the wec should of kept their divisions and maybe made some new ones to adjust to these guys cutting too much weight and puttin on lousy performances.

Has Forrest talked to the media since the AS fight?

I was just talking about this yesterday with some of my friends. I think this would be a FANTASTIC fight!!! Both guys will come out and bang. If the UFC can make this happen maybe in December or in the January show that would be awesome. At first I thought Rich might need a break because he has fought so often this year but I don't think you can count 103.
c'mon Joe Silva and Dana, you can make this one happen!!

I wouldnt mind watching it, nor will care much about it either. I dont see Franklin as a top contender in the LHWd, Nor Forrest anymore... Forrest will probably get to be the next Gatekeeper, since Jardine isnt even that anymore, Franklin is kind of screwed, Now hes not even the second best MW (nor 3erd) and I doubt he can beat Nate either... So the MW division doesnt fit for him anymore, nor will the LHWd...

I think Franklin vs Nate is closer than you'd think. If AS vacates MW, he's borderline #2-3 there again assuming Vitor captures the belt. That being said, I'd like to see Franklin vs Forrest. They are both fan favorites who, like you said, are becoming less relevant in their divisions. I they share the same key weakness; neither really has finishing power, particularly against top guys. Franklin has said recently that he doesn't know how much longer he'll be fighting, and how many more TKO's will Forrest need to suffer before hanging 'em up? Franklin vs Griffin only makes sense as one of the final fights before both of these guys retire. Both are fan favorites.

I really will hate to see Franklin retire, the guy is such a nice and classy fighter, I doubt the UFC will cut him, so if hes going to the LHD, give him a couple of cans, and then turn him in some kind of jardine, no need for him to start fighting the top again risking another loss... Forrest I dont care much, I used to like the guy, but the way he quit against AS just made mi dislike him...

I think he stopped running about halfway back to vegas to let everyone know he's alright, and then started running again.
Seriously though, i'd like to know also, because i havent heard anything from him at all!

I don't think this fight happens. It doesn't make sense from a business POV on UFC's part. Both of these guys are highly marketable fighters and both are in a serious need of a win so pitting them against one another knocks one of them off the radar.
