I did a search for a thread praising ole Frank, and did not immediately find one.
Frank might be my vote for most under appreciated fighter in UFC history. He seems to be one of those guys that gets more crap for his loses than he gets praise for his victories.
But he's half Cuban and my ten year old daughters favorite fighter, so I'm going to sing his praises.
Most HW fights in UFC history 24
Most HW wins in UFC history 15
Most HW finishes in UFC history 12
Most HW submissions in UFC history 8
Wins against 4 UFC HW champions
Wins over Cro Cop, Roy Nelson, Brock Lesnar, Big Foot, Big Nog, Tim Sylvia, Pete Williams, and Cheick Kongo to name a few
At the end of the day, if you've won 15 UFC HW fights, you are a bad f---ing man.

Not to mention coming back from his motorcycle crash, after getting rather Chubby to boot, overcoming it all and let's face it. Not too many people gave him a chance in hell of winning last night.
Of course now in hindsight its just because BF sucks and doesn't have the TRT/Steroid advantage.
Fuckthat. He's on the short list of all time great HWs in my opinion. Not the best maybe but deserves to be in the discussion at least.

Mir and Werdum are the only ones to sub Big Nog in Nog's 45 MMA fights. Enough said

You'd probably get more people on the wagon if it just said "Frank"
i've been watching him for like 10-15 years and i didn't know that was his name.

no one has been in the ufc as long as Mir has. (Vitor doesn't count) and he was a good commentator for WEC.

Always like Frank. Rarely is in a boring fight win or lose

Jesus Christ I now more about his loses than I do about his achievements and they are not bad at all, to me he just don't come across as a likable guy that's all,

I can see how'd he'd come off as arrogant or not likable.

I've kind of come full circle on Mir.
Loved him at first, rooted for him after his motorcycle crash... then I grew to really dislike him because of his constant whining about "huge heavyweights" that used sheer size to make up for deficiencies in skill (massive guys like Lesnar). I liked that he bulked up, didn't like that he used bulking up as an excuse when he started losing to the top guys.
Now? I respect the fact that he's still fighting and still taking it seriously and trying to figure out ways to reinvent himself.
During his post-fight speech, he listed off tons of excuses for his past failures (Tito would have been proud to hear it)... but, I'm sure that is what he honestly believes and I can't fault the guy for being honest........ even if the excuses drive me crazy.

Some facts form Junkie...
Mir’s 16 victories in UFC heavyweight competition are the most in divisional history.
Mir’s 13 stoppage victories in UFC heavyweight competition are the most in divisional history.
Mir’s 13 stoppage victories in UFC competition are tied with Hughes and Vitor Belfort for the second most in history behind Anderson Silva (14).
Mir’s 10 first-round stoppage victories in UFC competition are the most in modern history.
HOF for sure!

Frank Mir has grown on me over the years, I definitely used to strongly dislike him, now I am a fan for sure.
Impressed with his hands, that KO on Duff was pretty damn good. Terrible punch by Duff yes, but Frank kept his eye on him the whole time while getting punched in the face, BOOM throws a bomb while slipping Duff, and then kills him.
Breaking the bones of Big Nog (KO'd and Subbed), Tim Sylvia. Also awesome.
WAR
FRANK "BONEBREAKER" MIR

I've always liked Frank, just always seems to have come up short in the big fights. At 36 he's not done yet though and a couple more W's in the current wasteland that is the HW division, who knows he could yet end up fighting for the strap???

Frank is tha man. I used to not like him but then I figured out I don't have to be pals with him. I'm not expecting him to call me and hang out. I can still be a fan even if he seems like he could be arrogant out of the cage because all I want is to see him KO guys. War Frank Freakin Mir!!!
