The eyewall is hitting my Galveston Seawall as we speak. Nobody has any clue as to the damage or casualties due to the darkness. Looks nasty. Let's hope I held back most of the storm surge.
Also, Geralrdo is totally crazy. He's been standing 100 feet from my Galveston Seawall all evening, hugging a pallm tree to keep from blowing away. But, he's said the word "Seawall" at least 50 times tonight, so he's my buddy, for now.

I live in Ohio and Ike just knocked out 250,000 people's power last night, it might be seven days before we get it back. What's up with that? You dudes who live in Texas or Florida assume the risk of this kind of thing...but we're not safe in landlocked freaking Ohio?

Yeah, what the hellt? I was downtown when it started, and had to drive home dodging trees and construction barrels flying all over the place. It actually was kinda fun. Drove around the 'hood after it had calmed down a bit to survey the damage. Man, some of the older neighborhoods got schooled. My 'hood is pretty new, so our trees aren't big enough to do any real damage if/when they blow down. I escaped with a snapped-in-half trellis, and only lost power for about a 1 second.

We were down for about 24 hours, just came on about an hour ago. I'll take it; they say some people in the county may have to wait 7 days. I think if I were looking at that kind of time, we'd be packing up the car and going somewhere for a few days. About 2 hours of picking up branches and sticks from the yard, but only one big branch from the big maple in the back, other than that just small stuff.

bout damn time, i had to flag down a damn elec comp truck and say WTF yo, he was like "sir we didnt know u guys are out of power !! !HUH WTF , man ive called every hour on the hour for the last 2 days F U !!!!!
however i did spend my time wisely, i started reading TAO Jeet Kun Do and its pretty sweet i mus say
damn never knew id miss the junkie so much haha
