They say give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. If you give Gilbert Yvel a referee, he's right hook him in the ear and soccer kick him on the mat. We were at The Ultimate Chaos when Yvel absolutely napalm bombed Pedro Rizzo with perhaps the knock out of 2009 (and we have it all here). Later that night, we caught up with Gilbert and his boy Eric Bradley (a guy that should definitely fight more often) and congratulated him on his continued rawness. After checking that our spleens were still intact, we left Gilbert Yvel at the after-party and went to perhaps the worst strip-club in America.
Those were the days when Gilbert Yvel ruled MiddleEasy. After The Ultimate Chaos (and well into his UFC career) we constantly tried to interview Yvel but he managed to duck all of our attempts. LayzieTheSavage finally caught up with Gilbert last weekend, and it seems Yvel is under the impression that Alistair Overeem uses performance enhancing drugs.

Im thinking about making an * Official PED's Thread * because it seems every other day there more and more threads about this subject. Maybe the MOD's could make it a stickie and we can just keep bumping it when another fighter says something or accuses somebody of running gear.

Well, Overeem beats up Cans with Roids, is there anyway to relate that to hitting refs... Yes you can.... Hitting refs lol...
I find it funny that people are still infatuated with this gorilla. I guess its kinda like Mark McGuire, your ready to see a homerun and if you dont you either get a line drive single or a strikeout....
For Overeem that is either a KO, A dryhump for the win, and the strikeout is getting knocked out by real competition.

Hes a k-1 champion in an era without great fighters like Hoost, hes a sf champion that cant even defend his own companys tourneyment iwthout coming up wiht a ton of excuses. Hes lost to every opponet that has a good record. Except the Non-fight he had against Werdum!
If he wasnt on roids his Homeruns would be pop flies... Yes hes going to hit you hard, but its not goign anywhere.
Ive said hes on roids for a long long time now, and will continue to believe so....

No kidding, huh? In this day and age I'd be shocked beyond belief if the figure was less than 80% who have have used PED's.
All this "well it's just a baseless claim until they fail a drug test" is the ultimate 'sticking your head in the sand' reaction.
You cannot have a drug policy that has zero element of surprise and randomness to it and have it be effective, you just can't. Month after month after month the UFC puts on shows and all tests come back clean.... I mean, how many have actually been caught?? A handful, really. So, to say their testing is effective is to believe that only 4-5 fighters are using and that's laughable.
The UFC doesn't want PED's wiped out from the sport any more than the fighters do... PED's put asses in the seats and money in the bank. You can disagree if you want but you can also die of asphyxiation if you don't pull your head out of the sand pretty soon, too.

Even though they were never busted,I bet Griffey and Thome used steroids. No base behind it (similar to your claim on Overeem), other then every other homerun hitter of the era also did steroids.

Griffey and Thome were both around, but there consistancy shows there numbers.

No way that Thome or Junior used the juice at any point throughout their careers. First of all, Thome is still playing at a pretty high level at age 41. Guys that have roided in the past tend to break down when they get up there in age. Secondly, Thome has exceptionally good technique to thank for his home run power, not exceptional strength or speed. Finally, Ken Griffey Jr. is the most talented individual to ever play the game of baseball. His accomplishments in the sport are based purely on talent. Also, don't flame people for making baseless accusations against Overeem if you're going to the same thing about someone else.

One of the few guys I've actually heard go on record about this is Krzysztof Soszynski (yes I Googled how to spell that) and he claims that more than 95% of fighters are using PEDs in some capacity. I find that somewhat hard to believe, but I do agree that PEDs are a huge problem in all of sports, not just MMA.
