Haha I saw it today. I guess the title of the movie will be
Ninja Turtles
but the origin story will indeed feature them as an alien race. Quote from Michael Bay: "Kids are going to believe one day these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable."
Apparently the massive explosions are supposed to mask the fact that the ooze is vitally important to the origin of not only the turtles, but also Splinter, Rocksteady and Bebop among others.
I may have to kill myself for living in a world where it's okay for a guy like Michael Bay to rape the iconic franchise of my childhood for massive profits.

I read this the other day... What a f---er.... TMNT was one of the first movies I saw in theaters... Bay is a class one A-hole.. He needs to go back to original ideas and stop taking old ones and making them his own....
On one hand, I have to shake my head and just say, "why?".
Why do we need another f---ing remake of an idea from 20-25 years ago? Is there really nothing original that can be thought up?
On the other hand... why is everyone so pissed off? Don't we have better things to do than worry about the next terrible movie Michael Bay is going to make? I enjoyed Ninja Turtles as much as the next kid back when I was 10, but that was 20 years ago... I don't really give a s--- about a remake just like I wouldn't rush to the store to buy some TMNT action figure if it was released tomorrow. Why? Because I've grown up.
Oh well, I personally won't be seeing this movie, but I guess I'm less outraged then everyone above. If some dumbass exec wants to greenlight a $200 budget for a TANT movie, meh.
Cant the OOZE just be an alien invention and/or a way these specific Aliens universally-travel, they de-materialize into this ooze and then re-materialize into whatever life-form comes into contact with the ooze.

it was a transformers alternate universe. Came one when 3d cartoons were just hitting the scene.
basically bunch of stasis pods crash onto a prehistoric earth and each pod take the form of what ever animal it comes in contact with. Gorillas raptors, Spiders, tigers. you get the idea. show still hold up today.........i miss that show.
