I voted for Phelps.
Wayne Gretzky is the greatest of all time. Tiger Woods is 2nd. No one else has revolutionized/owned their respective sports more.
I don't mind putting Silva 3rd. Tony Hawk is definitely up there too...but who really cares about skateboarding lol.
No Olympic athlete should be up there...that's absurd.

do you not know who Pele is? That guy did more for Soccer/ Football than anything Gretzky did for Hockey!
He's up against Phelps 1st round. We all know Jordan is gonna crush this thing, but a 1st round victory would be nice for our sport's guy. Regardless, I'm happy that he (or anyone MMA) is getting nominated.

Where do you guys think Anderson Silva is, as far as accomplishment in the sport, compared to Michael Jordan? Is what Anderson has done more or less amazing than what Jordan did?
I really don't think Anderson will make it past Phelps but it's cool he was included. He definitely deserves it.

He passed the first round, he was competing against Jones Fedor GSP Gable Karelin etc, they had multiple choices for combat category, Silva got 54% of votes, he was chosen as GOAT of Combat.
Well, I mostly did it for a joke, but it really is true.
22 Olympic medals (the most ever - 18 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze), a 37 time world record holder and a whack of golds at world championships versus a guy that won't fight a wrestler without a single Olympic medal.
I'll watch Silva before Phelps every day of the week and twice on Sundays. 'Cause I like MMA way more than I like competitive swimming and I think the Spider is the best fighter on the planet.
Phelps still gets my vote.

If Silva could beat 1 person from each country also and get a new medal everytime, and people would take time how fast he can beat i.e some italian guy, I think he would also have atleast 37 world records.
Swimmers have what? 8 different swimming type contests per olympics, + team efforts, its ridiculous. Put Phelps in a cage with Silva for 10 minutes and after that give them 10 minutes and see who swims further, I bet Silva wins both contests.
