i'm really new to this whole diet thing. I've been doing boxing at my local gym.
my trainer gave me a basic diet to follow, he told me to take protein after i work out.
i don't understand much about it. he gave me the type to get.
is there a difference in the brands? is there a recommended one?

Not really. Some contain different blends of proteins to cause varying rates of digestion, but there's really nothing out there that makes any appreciable difference in terms of gains or performance that I've noticed. I basically try to balance between budget and taste. Some are really nasty, some taste like a milkshake.
I personally MyoFusion from Gaspari. I'm pretty sure it's the exact same thing as BSN Syntha 6 and costs a lot less. (By same thing, I mean literally made at the same Chinese factory).

LOL.
It's true though. Protein Powders are generally shipped in bulk from China and bottled here. So each company is essentially just buying a blend that a 3rd party produces and slapping their label on it. It's entirely conceivable that many different products are in fact the exact same thing. For anyone curious, find a sample of MyoFusion Chocolate and Syntha 6 chocolate and tell me if they aren't the exact same thing.

If you're Canadian, that sounds about right. In future though, online retailers tend to be a lot cheaper.
