Apparently the online Gracie Academy has released their curriculum to their belts and some of the other Gracies have spoken out about it and are saying it misrepresents what they were taught by Helio.

Your online belt will only be recognized as a joke in any real academy.

This was inevitable I guess. BJJ is a victim of its own success and demand.
I have complex feelings about it as an art. I don't like how they re-name age old Japanese techniques & in effect co-opting them.
I know a guy who runs a BJJ dojo, nice fellow, good martial artist.
He opened his school as a brown belt, now he is a black belt & insists on being called "professor".
Both of my Japanese sensei's (jujutsu/judo) who have been practicing longer than this guy is alive, if you called them professor, they would likely laugh.
The MMA community owes a debt of gratitude, or at least acknowledgement of BJJ's importance to a sport we all love.
It is not (like anything else) immune from hucksters looking to cash in.
