I personally think Pettis will sub Grant after rocking him on the feet, TJ is one tough dude so im not sure if strikes alone will stop the guy.
Either way though Pettis wins this fight.

This could be lopsided in both ways, but I think Pettis is much better and I think he will catch him and finish him. Tj could land some hard bombs and finish it on the ground or rough him up...I dunno, gonna be a good fight.
I just think this is a bad matchup thou for Grant, even thou I wouldnt count him out.

I find it funny that after a slick arm bar that Pettis is all of a sudden gonna beat or submit Grant. I don't doubt it but give TJ some respect, he is one tough and skilful bastard that will make it a fight, I mean it was only a few fights ago that Pettis was getting grapple shagged by Guida and luckily scraping a split decision over Stephens FFs!!!
Obviously the smart money will be on Pettis but TJ Grant as proved against Maynard will give him hell everywhere...

Dear sweet god thank you.
I think Grant is being underestimated. He has a NASTY ground game, is very tough and durable, and has extremely improved Muay Thai striking. This should be a good one

All I know is Grant is a F-ing huge LW and as tough as they come. This is by no means a sure thing when it comes to Pettis winning, although he will clearly be favored, as he should be. Could be a good reason he was calling out Aldo not Grant other than the $$$$ he'd make fighting Aldo instead. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if the belt goes to Grant in the end

Always happy when Dana takes my advice. Have Pettis/Grant and Aldo/Mendes and maybe revisit the Aldo/Pettis fight if those matchups shake out right.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Grant and Mendes with the belts around their waists though.

lol I can't believe people are really giving Grant that much of a chance against Pettis. Yeah he's been hot...but Pettis is really in another realm of MMA than TJ. There is a lot of inconsistency in TJ's career and wins over Dunham/Maynard aren't suddenly going to change that perspective for me.

What up? Mad Scientist has spoken and he just might be right. Chad very well may leapfrog Lamas because as much as Ricardo wants to be next, he's only had 2 fights and Mendes has been on Fire! Not to mention quite active. That's the fight I'd prefer to see anyway. Let Cub and Lamas hook up for part 2, or if Ricardo don't want to play, Edgar/Swanson

Yeah, I'm guessing Mendes is just too hot right now for Dana and Joe Silva to say no to.

That inconsistency was when he was fighting some of the top guys at 170 pounds. His losses are DHK, Hendricks, and Almeida. Hasn't been an ounce of inconsistency at 155.
The thing that impresses me most about Grant is the fact that he's so well rounded. His ground game is AWESOME. Better than Pettis' so please stop with the "Pettis is going to sub him" crap. Grant thoroughly outgrappled to VERY good grapplers in Roller and Prater. Say what you want about those guys as MMA fighters or UFC caliber fighters, but as grapplers, they are top notch. Dunham is another guy with a very good ground game that Grant beat rather handily. Then he switched it up on us and tore through 2 very tough and durable guys in Wiman and Maynard with KO's, displaying striking nobody really thought he had. Wiman had 1 career KO loss in 21 fights (13 in the UFC) before that, and it was in his UFC debut. Plus he's very big, tough, and durable. That's a hell of a mix

TJ Grant is an agressive striker with 57% Striking Defense so about every second strike hits him. Pettis lands about 7 or 8 out of 10 strikes thrown
Grants TDD is 37% and Pettis Takedown Success is 77%.
Weirder things have happened.
