Every time i see or hear GSP i can't help but picture Jean Claude Van Damme. its uncanny the way they sound so similar - it cracks me up. i watched a Van Damme movie a couple of days ago (i don't think im allowed to say but its UNIVERSAL and its about a SOLDIER...) and i kept trying to put GSP in his place, it made the movie SO much more entertaining.... :lol: :lol: :lol:

I grew up thinking that Van Damme was the shite next to our dark lord Satan, and every time I see GSP I say "VAN DAAAMME!." They both look and sound alike, but GSP is Filet Mignon and JCVD is peanuts when it comes to actual fighting, or at least these days because back in his day JCVD was kicking *** and taking names in the european karate scene---wonder how he might have done had he tried what passed as MMA back then(I guess gettig acting like he was getting his *** kicked beat having it kicked for real).

But JCVD is from french speaking Brussels and GSP is french canadian(somewhere close to Montreal? Don't hate me, I just don't remember) but both have that french vibe going on. Gotta love their accents:

It's comments like this that give people with low post counts such a bad name and make it hard to be taken seriously. It isn't just THESE DAYS that GSP is Filet while JCVD is peanuts, it doesn't matter what time period you're talking about!
As for JCVD's skills? They showed his fight scenes in slow motion for a reason.

You shouldn't be so quick to insult other people's posts. Supposedly Van Damme was a pretty good kickboxer and had something like an 18-2 record before making it to Hollywood. Obviously MMA had not really developed back then. I believe that is what the previous poster was referring to.

Can you show JCVD, or JC VanVarenburg, having a kickboxing record? Seeveral years back his legitimacy was checked out by readers of several mags I suscribed to and no one could find this record under either his screen name or real name. Like Segal much of his myth is exactly that a myth.

I agree that Van Damme would win. I dont know if he would beat his ***. If it was a 5 rounder, Van Damme could deffinently wear him out in the later rounds. GSP is not used to fighting several times a day ala Van Damme. Also depends on if they alow slow-motion to be used.

yeah, I agree... but, I really think Steven will beat both of them, specially if they fight both at the same time, since that seems to be segal's thing.
