I am extremely disappointed by Hatsu Hioki's UFC run.
I thought he was going to get smashed by Marlon, but instead he used his reach, takedowns, and slick ground work to smash Marlon.
After this fight, I thought he was a legit threat to anyone at 145 pounds.... Which I am now not so sure about.
On paper Hatsu should destroy Guida... Just like he should have smashed everyone else he fought. But seeing how I am either overrating Hatsu, or underrating his opponents, I have no idea what is going to happen.
Boy would I love to see him smash Guida though.

Guida by submission is the least probable outcome out of any possible outcome that could be predicted. There is little research or reason that can back this opinion up as a serious claim.

The idea of Hioki submitting Guida makes me think that if the likes of Sanchez,Bendo,Nate Diaz,Danzig etc can't submit him then how can a FW in Hioki do the same?..
If Hioki wins I can't help think that it'll be from getting grapple fuked to a decision.
While I'm inclined to believe that Guida will undoubtly be in a stalled ground position for a duration of the fight.
My thoughts are, Guida is coming in big for the fight, he has shown he has some footspeed if he really needs it, he could work the Chuck Liddell bike because I'm unsure what Hiako could do if force to stay up. Guida is a game plan kind of guy, he will want to avoid Hioki's greatest strength which is the chance of submission, locking up with a guy that dangerous, "so if I use my greatest strength from preventing his greatest strength, I win."---Classic Greg Jackson mentality.

I've been a big fan of Hioki and I hope he does it.
Sadly my mind is usually right for fights like these and I believe he will just get decisioned.
I hope he KOs him standing but I doubt that too.

clay guida's wrestling is not that great. You will notice when he faces other wrestlers he is not that successful with his takedowns. Clay is good at timing his shots, usually shooting by ducking under strikes. Hioki loves to use a front kick to keep distance. He is very successful with this technique. Hioki has strong hips and will most likely have a stronger sprawl than Clay Guida's shot. This will force Clay to stand with the taller fighter.
Hioki fights "tall" and is great with using movement to avoid takedowns. Much like Machida and JDS, his constant movement will frustrate a straight ahead brawler like Guida. Hioki uses technical straight punches and can double up on the jab -- He does not over-commit with wild attacks like overhand rights and sloppy strikes that Guida loves to time to his his takedowns. Look for Hioki to utilize numerous leg kicks to slow Guida down. Hioki will throw many of them and they are accurate and powerful . Clay's stands straight in front of his target and this will be doom against Hioki.

Don't you know that you aren't allowed to use reason and logic around here? Quick? Yes.. Precise? Yes... To the point? Yes.... Good post.
