I'm just curious what you think the #2 contender at UFC HW will be. We know Cain fights Werdum/Browne winner for next shot....but who is after that? Let's assume Overeem does fight JDS. Other fight we know is Big Nog/Big Country (but I doubt two wins in a row by either of those two guys gets them a shot)
So, you are thinking what 4 guys (two fights, winner vs winner produces next contender) make up this next contender? Would it be JDS/Overeem winner vs Miocic/Josh Barnett winner??? Two of those guys are coming off loses.
Another rumored fight is Schaub vs Palelei but that winner is better served fighting Big Nog/Big Country winner. Hmm, you got a possible end of the year rematch of Bigfoot vs Hunt...that winner could be in the running.
Wow, I guess it has to be JDS/Overeem winner vs Miocic/Josh Barnett winner. With not many people building up behind that.

If Miocic's next fight is against a top 5 and he wins, then probably him.

Yea Nog and Roy are light years away from a shot, if Hunt fought a big name hed be close and Barnett jus got his brain drilled in

UFC can have a short memory with guys like Barnett and Overeem. I think if either of those guys can put together a couple good wins they'll be right back in the conversation, if they deserve it or not.
Could throw out Brendan Schaub too, he's been riding the bench for a while. With another win he's on a 3 fight win streak.

I would have to say after Browne puts a beat down on we room and than elbows Cain into the canvas we are looking at JDS again if he gets past Reem and say miocic. But i think Cain might get an immediate rematch.

IMO werdum is the true #2 guy right now. He's won six of his last seven against top competition barring Russo and Kyle including his unforgettable submission against fedor. He's currently on a 3 fight winning streak since he got back in the ufc. You could make an argument for travis also but either way their fight is the #1 contender fight. The winner will get Cain.

I'd say Hunt if he gets another big name fight (after his last performance I don't see why Dana wouldn't)
if not then miocic is probably 1-2 fights away if he gets a big name ( i hope they give him someone ATHLETIC)

I think it makes sense that the winner of Browne v Werdum gets the next shot and after that Miocic v Reem gets the next shot after that.
I would prefer to see JDS v Reem though

Obviously Brendan Schaub is the real #1 contender in the HW Division. Because his Jiu-Jitsu is the best among all Heavyweights currently fighting in the UFC.

I laugh when people say fighter x is light years away from a title shot at HW, or that they need several wins. With the possible exception of JDS while Cain is champ, I don't think anyone at HW is more than a fight away from potentially being given a title shot. HW is one of the most shallow divisions. Fly and WBW have fewer listed on the roster, but HW might even beat those out when you account for retired fighters that are still listed.
In UFC HW title fights, there have been 44 fighters that entered the cage without a belt (or had the interim belt against the real belt). The average win streak is 4.5, but that number is skewed by a few times fighters were on long streaks (and a couple streaks show up twice, like Carwin and Sylvia). When you take the top 5 streaks out, the number drops to 3.1 fights. But what is even more telling is that 29 of the 44 had a streak of 3 or fewer (6 times a fighter entered a HW title fight coming off a loss). 23 times (or 52.3% ) the streak was 2 or fewer wins.
Many of those streaks include multiple fights outside the UFC (which in some cases actually was better competition), and fights at other weight classes. Focus on UFC and HW only fights and the average win streak shrinks pretty dramatically (didn't actually do the math).
Given how unusual it is (comparatively speaking) for a HW to go on a long streak in the UFC, it is definitely a division where anything can happen. Take Roy, he certainly isn't on the fast track to a title shot, but if he wins this and everybody in front of him loses, fails a test, or gets injured, then what? He could easily end up with it by default.
Not to say HW fighters should sit on their laurels, but that division is not like LW or WW where there are so many guys on good streaks that title shots are hard to come by.

With Krylov going to 205 it's gotta be Nandor Guelmino

In my head, these should be considered in the title picture.
1. Fabricio Werdum, 2. Travis Browne , 3. Stipe Miocic and 4. Allistair Overeem. If Junior Dos Santos or Mark Hunt wins 1-2 fights, they should be close to. Josh Barnett and Nogueira/Nelson winner should need some more wins before they are up there.

I'm sure when Jones decides to go to HW he will get an imediate shot (even if he doesn't deserve it)
