For those who were wondering if the UFC’s plan on division expansion was a one way street that only led to lower weight classes, a very surprising thing was said today by UFC’s president Dana White while speaking to Brendan Schaub on his podcast. White spoke on the possibility of the UFC bringing in a Super Heavyweight division. On “The Fight and The Kid” podcast, White had this to say:
“We’re actually working on bringing in member of the American Sumo Wrestling Federation, Which I said wouldn’t happen for a long time,We are also thinking of special events where all weight classes could fight against each other, so a 125 pound guy could be fighting a 325 pound monster, that would be epic”
For Those who are curious this wouldn’t be the first time the UFC has had a Super Heavyweight division, as Josh Barnett holds a victory in the company’s first ,and to date ONLY SANCTIONED, Super Heavyweight bout.

Fedor isnt the same Fedor anymore. Hungry Fedor that was fighting to feed his family and save them from starvation was the brutal killing machine that dominated all of mankind. Church Fedor is the smart old master without the same level of drive and passion, his family are stocked up on enough food and money to last 1000 years.

I too knew he said this a while ago and thought it was said as a joke. Nobody would ever sanction that flyweight v super heavyweight bout. Am I wrong or are these guys taking a joking comment on a fighter's podcast as fact and then writing about it?

They should just abolish weight limit for HW. If a bigger 300 lb man can handle Cains pace/speed, and win, he should be champ. Also, without the weight limit, larger athletes (That are not premire players in their sport) may find the prospect of fighting, more attractive than riding the bench in the NBA/NFL.
