Simple question how did you get into mma and what organisations did you start watching (you can select multiple in the poll). For me it was WEC, it was on Irish TV at a time when the UFC wasn't or maybe i didn't have the channel at the time, but i was flicking channels one night, it came on and i was hooked, for that reason i still support former WEC guys, Sonnen, Faber, Cowboy, Condit(although i wasn't happy with him in the Diaz fight, only time ive seen him not try finish a fight).
I know i didn't include some organisations, only allowed 10 on a poll so feel free to add below as you wish.

Highlights on youtube. Then watching some UFC. Then practicing. It was like 6-7 years ago
.
Now organizing some events.

Bob Sapp.
At first I seen Sapp vs Kimo is a K-1 match, at the time I thought that was MMA. Then I seen some Sapp MMA fights, and a friend started watching UFC which led to me watching UFC too.

A college friend of mine was competing in RITC here in the Phx area. He introduced me to Mark Kerr, and i started following Pride. My boy later had a shot in the UFC & WEC before retiring. That was enough to get me hooked. The rest, as they say, is history.

UFC and Pride.I bought some UFC and pride tapes off this guy who I worked with at the time, and after that I was hooked,I was constantly going to the shops and buying UFC and pride DVDs.Then I started training and knew I wanted to take it up professionally.Injuries have stopped me from taking it up further..But if I didn't watch all of them pride ones from back in the day, then I would probably of been a Fedor hater too

I started off as a boxing fan and I would talk to my old boss about fights.
He said to me "if you like fights so much, you should check out UFC".
This was around the time that Liddell was about to fight Couture for the first time.
I watched that fight and was instantly intrigued.
Shortly after, I was all out hooked.
After watching UFC for awhile I heard about PRIDE from the same guy.
Watched that and became an all around MMA fan

Do you still watch much boxing? I used to be a big boxing fan but the more mma I watched the less boxing I watched, I still watch big fights but I would struggle to hold a conversation about boxing with a hardcore fan because MMA really took over combat sport for me. I just find MMA so much more exciting and enjoy the fact when 5 main fights are advertised im going to see 5 relevant fights as opposed to one.

Old roommate and I were bored one Saturday night, and decided to head to a bar to have a few. Noticed that they were showing fights on the TV, and we started watching. I think, if memory serves me right, it was Chuck vs Tito.
From then on, I was hooked. We ordered every PPV, watched as much as we could.

Me and a friend went to UFC #1 in Denver in 1993. Watched Royce Gracie submit everyone in sight. The event was billed as the answer to "Which form of martial arts is the best?", and boy did it deliver! Been a fan ever since.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.
MMA has taken over for the most part in what I watch.
I, like you, just tend to watch the big boxing fights (most ppvs).
One of my best friends is still really into boxing (I got him into MMA, but he never left boxing alone) and he keeps me updated and tells me who to watch out for in the boxing world.

First exposure to MMA: People playing old UFC/Pride tapes at parties during college. But most of us were boxing fans, and MMA was more a spectacle than a sport.
Then I graduated college and before I got cable, I used to watch the boxing on the Spanish-language channels on Friday evenings...people knew not to bother me between 7-9 because I was watching boxing. Then the economy went south and the Friday night fights were cancelled due to costs. Just so happened that around this same time, the IFL came on to free t.v. and got me hooked (Roy Nelson was my favorite). I couldn't believe how dynamic MMA was, how a fight could be turned upside-down so quickly, how a guy who was apparently losing a fight could pull a win out so quickly. Then I discovered Bodog fights on late-night Saturdays, and after that aired, they'd play UFC Unleashed. Finally I got cable (Spike) and could keep up with the current goings on.
Now, boxing is back on the Spanish channels, but it's pre-recorded now (same day, just delayed), and I've watched it some, but I dunno...it's just different than it used to be.

I watched UFC 1 and 2 on VHS. Watched #3 on PPV. Watched until around # 10 and then lost interest until like 2002. Then I found PrideFC. I had good friends who joked around that I didn't know who guys in the UFC were during the first TuF era while I had stayed up to watch every single PrideFC event for years.
Man did I rub it in when Rampage crushed Liddell the first time.

Same here..Ive loved boxing since I was about 6,I still do but before mma I always thought I was a major boxing geek and knew my stuff, however talking to someone a few years ago, who indecently was a boxing geek I realised I'm just a fan of boxing,he knew about facts, statistics of fighters and fights that happened 100's of years ago, although I know about things like that from the Joe Lous era etc,he knew too much.I knew mma is what I know best..I'm always interested in a lot of boxing fights but I can stay up in the early hours watching repeated Amatuer mma fights who I've never heard of, and watch it until it's finished. With boxing I'm not like that..

I actually watched TUF first, but I guess that counts as UFC. It was TUF 10, the kimbo slice season, I didn't watch it for him at all, but I guess he was the reason it was on TV here cause I don't remember seeing any earlier seasons than that on dutch TV. From that point I've loved MMA/TUF/UFC.

around 2000, i knew of ufc but i also heard of this thing called Pride. i thought it sounded awesome and decided i would spend a week downloading a VCD copy of an event with my dial up connection and i stuck with it til the end. after that in 2007-08 i started watching ufc and then started watching everything else.

My brother introduced me to MMA during Royce Gracie's run. He was fasinated that a lighter guy could beat a much bigger guy. So i watched and i was impressed. It was when the other fights were on that i started not to care too much. I thought it was a bit too much. So i would watch from time to time but when it got to grusome i would go do something else. But, when i really got into it was when they did 1st Reality show of the Ultimate Fighter. I was intrigued of the technical moves they were teaching during the show. That's when it clicked in my head that i had done similar in High School in wrestling. From then on i been hooked and more so these last couple of years since i got my smart phone and been watching interviews on youtube.

Watching the UFC VHS tapes from the Family Video with buddies in 96-97. We watched 4 and 5 first, didn't take long to rent out all of the ones they had. Lost touch during college, then came back to it.

I think mine was watching WWF when I was younger and Ken Shamrock made his first showing and I wanted to know who he was, and I watched a tape. Amazing that you had to go to the video store to get anything back in the day.
So UFC, 98.

I caught the first season of TUF flipping through channels one night. It was towards the end of the season. I followed it a little and then watched the epic finale live. I was hooked after that. Then me and my uncle rented UFC 52 where Chuck Liddell won the title, and after that I was obsessed.
