How exactly is Dong Hyun Kim supposed to defeat Hector Lombard?

Lombard is the better grappler, striker and all around MMA fighter. Dong Hyun Kim, while he has looked good recently, has not beaten anyone close to the calibre of Jake Shields, the guy Lombard just beat.
The only chance he has is to win 3 rounds of a 5 round fight, but i just honestly don't see that happening. Lombard tightened up his cardio in his last outing, and if Lombard shows up in the same shape as when he fought Shields, it's gonna be a long night for Dong Hyun Kim.

Styles make match ups, Lombard was a bad match up for Shields. Kim is a bad match up for Lombard. He gets in his face, pushes him against the cage and is going to punch him in said face, a lot. Lombard loses.

if Kim gets into lombard's face, he'll also be getting his face into the canvas when lombard throws a right uppercut under the armpit that lands flush on the Dong's head

yea we will have to discuss that if we are in a team fight and that match happens lol
From a guy who was able to hang with some of the stronger 180s in the UFC Kim is not going to push him around and he is going to get koed, Lombard is a better striker than Silva and Silva was beating him in the standup before the punch that koed Silva

@CMVIDEO75 this is for you
This fight would be like BJ Penn fighting Shinya Aoki.. there is no where in the fight game Aoiki has an advantage over Penn.. he can't take him down.. he can't strike with him but Penn can take Aoki down and Aoki would not be able to sub Penn
Same goes for Lombard.. better striking.. i believe better use of MMA judo.. if it goes to the ground Lombard is not getting submitted and most likely he will be on top

Thanks! I'm not sure how this applies to me tho... don't think I was in this thread. I agree Lombard should win but DYK can be surprising. It's not a lock for me but I like Lombard too.

I will say this.. Lombard tossed Shields like a rag doll, but Kim has the better defensive Judo and I seriously doubt Hector is going to be afraid of Kim's ground game or striking, hence leaving Hector vulnerable to being dumped and controlled on the ground.

Obviously we left out the part of the fight where Silva was tagging him at will though right or you just showing us Kims KO ability to possibly KO some one who has never been knocked out

if Kim wants to use his Judo to keep the fight standing which he will then that spells bad news for the stronger more complete striker

Kim's judo is better and he can take Lombard down if he switches up his striking and TD attempts. Lombard can be hit on the feet, that's no question, yes, he is a strong f---ing dude, but if this last 2 plus rounds, he is not nearly as strong, If this is a five round fight, he is going to "measure" himself and he isn't going to match Kim's pace on the feet or the mat.
I'm not saying Kim wins, but this is a much closer fight than you think, this isn't Lombard vs Silva.

well im under the belief that every one can be koed I mean look at Hendo before he met Belfort.. then he got his brain re adjusted, so the possibility is there but ur right its pretty slim

I can't recall the last fight where Kim used his judo offensively, can you?
