I wanna know? I'm really impressed with this guys skills and toughness and want to know how far he could go? Tony is a good wrestler with great unorthodox subs, good boxing, solid chin (as proved versus Trujillo who hit him with everything that a lesser man wouldn't have been able to be awake), he's getting better in each fight and doing what he did in devasting fashion against Tibau was really impressive. The kids still very young and is just getting better. Lol I'll disregard his fight versus Castillo as just a bad day at the office, although he still won
Thoughts?

I f-in love me some "el Cucuy" I already think of him as a contender in a deeeeep division. I always look forward to seeing him throw down.

I'm a fan but I cant see him beating anyone in the current top 5, RDA, Cowboy, Khabib, Gil or Bendo. He may break top 5 in time but I don't see him going any further.

I'm a huge Ferguson supporter. I think this past win really proves that he's ready to be talked about in the title picture. I think he can be competitive with the top 5 right now.

I can see him getting a title shot at some point, but unlikely to get the beltboth the champion Khabib, and the #1 Pettis beat him 9/10 times

I'm with everyone else here... I think he's good enough to hover around top 5 eventually but will he ever crack it?
Although with guys like him and his unorthodox sub game, you never know. He could catch anyone on a given night. I think he may have a career slightly more successful than say a Joe Lauzon. Really good finishing game but sometime leaves himself vulnerable while going for finishes. I think you'll get some big wins and some tough losses from time to time.

Mid-lower top 10 at best I think. Around 7-8

I voted "champion one day" cause the question was how good CAN he be...not will be. but yeah I could see this guy fighting for the title not too far off.
He's 30 coming into his prime and has a lot of good years ahead of him. He's a tough fight for anyone tough as hell, but a guy like Michael Johnson is a little ahead of him at this point in time. skies the limit for Tony, I've enjoyed watching this kid fight since his tuf season. always brings it, has what it takes, has an obvious intensity and formidable drive any fighter in that division will have to take him very seriously.

I believe him and M. Johnson could give anybody in the division trouble. Both him and Michael Johnson have improved so much since their fight in 2012.

Ferguson is good, real good. My only problem with him is that he takes too many risks for my liking. Example, in the Tibau fight he go into the pocket and had exchanges with him. That may have worked against him but against Pettis and/or Cerrone he would get dropped and Benson & Khabib wouldn't even play that game and exploit it.

Contender with the chance to catch anyone on any given night. Big fan.

We've been waiting for years for someone to finish Tibau quickly so that we didn't have to watch his boring a** fights.
In my mind, Ferguson is already an American(?) Hero.

I think he'll be more of gatekeeper to the top 5 but I doubt he's ever a contender or a champ. He's no good enough at this point and not young enough to get good enough IMO. Guys like Pettis, Cerrone, Dos Anjos, and Khabib are on other planets.

I tend to disagree Sed, I think Pettis and maybe, maybe Khabib might be on different planets.
But Cerrone and Dos Anjos?
They seem pretty far behind the other two mentioned fighters. Arguably Cerrone didn't beat Bendo by much and lost to RDA and got taken apart by Pettis. RDA got ragdolled by Nurm. it's hard to think those two are really on different planets.
Different strokes I guess.

Ferguson was always underrated to me, not gonna lie. The way he just smoked Tibau was crazy

I agree. Fergusson and Johnson continue to show marked improvement.
Fergusson was stunned by a 1st round head kick in the Johnson fight that made him a little hesitant imo. Tony controlled the center of the cage for most of that fight but was unable to match Johnson's speed.
Tony has all the tools to crack the top 5 but will have trouble with fighters with great TDD and speed.

I'd agree with that, he is 31 right now and looks to be in his prime. He's got probably 2-3 good years left. Though he can improve his skills, his speed/quickness is probably where it will always be. Love to see him get a 7-15 ranked fighter in his next bout. Maybe someone like Jury, Bobby Green, Masvidal, Thomson or even Nate Diaz. Given he finished Tibau in the first round, hopefully he fights sooner rather than later.

Big fan, he will contend for a title eventually and I believe he will come up short. Speed kills.
