Seriously, why is there even a discussion or a debate about this.
Aldo said hed fight anyone. Pettis is due a title shot, and wants to fight him
On top of all of that, this fight is f---ing sick.

I would much rather want to see Bendo/Pettis II. The first fight was badass. Imagine now with these guys evolved the way that they have.

Yea I want to see that too, But Bendo is fighting Gil, that means is an 8 month wait before we see pettis Bendo 2.

really? Cause UFC 151 came down to yes or no in a matter of minuets
All the fights are confirmed verbally, then they do the paperwork.

Pettis just sent a text, I would doubt his representation has had any discussions with the UFC. Aldo just fought a pretty tough fight with Edgar.

At 155 lbs, this fight sounds like an absolute WAR!!!...
At 145 lbs, I see a lot of heavy breathing coming from both men.
Pettis is in my opinion way too skinny to be a healthy competitor at 145, and he's already got a title shot scheduled.
Aldo, has Lamas and Zombie first, and they shouldn't be pushed to the side again.
I say we make Bendo VS Gil into a 3-way! Bendo VS Pettis VS Gil for the UFC Lightweight Championship!

I would much rather see Pettis wait his turn at 155 than see worthy contenders (Lamas and TKZ) get f*cked over yet again for a guy who's getting a title shot at a weight he's never fought at

I think Pettis should stay at 155. He's only twenty-six and so will only get bigger, not smaller. He always looks very lean at 155, like he cut a lot of weight so I'd hate to see him at 145.

And this kind of fair completely rational logic is what sinks companies left and right.
Fighters are always going to be pushed aside for the bigger better pay day.

Pettis actually said he is only around 158-160, so him cutting down to 155 hasn't been an issue. He is a smaller LW (like Edgar), and he could possibly make the cut down to 145.
Personally, I'd like to see Pettis vs Bendo II, then Aldo move up to 155, and fight there. Aldo struggles a bit more with his cut down to 145, so jumping up 10lbs might do him a lot of good. He'd also have a considerable speed advantage over the LW class right now too (like Edgar), and he would also bring MUCH better striking technique to go with it.
But, that is my opinion.

Yeah but that is probably simply because he stays so active and doesn't bloat up between fights like many other fighters do. Just because he's close to his fighting weight at his walk-around weight, doesn't mean he could cut to a lower division. Given how lean he looks at weigh-in, I'm just not sure a cut to 145 would be very healthy for him.
