If you made a movie about MMA, what would it be about?

That would make a really interesting documentary, you'd want to get some interviews with high profile guys though. Art Davies, Dana, Randy, Chuck, Royce, Coleman , GSP etc.

I agree. I'd watch that in theaters. And buy the DVD.
Honestly, no current MMA movies will do anything in today's current box office. The sport is still extremely young, so we haven't had any amazing stories everyone knows about to put on the silver screen. Give it ten more years and we'll have a great MMA movie.
I'd be interested in any straight-to-DVD documentaries or whatever is made. I'll check out most of what has been previously suggested.
I'd make a movie more or less based upon chuck liddells story. Single mom, wrestler, karate kid, bare knuckle fights in brazil, early ufc, Tito drama, Rampage drama, UFC belt for 5 defenses, Rampage Drama, Retirement.......Theres more to life than fighting blah blah blah. I love fighting BLah Blah BLah.
Have chuck do a cameo or play the part of someone who isn't the young chuck. Chuck = $_$ and Dana = oIo
1000s of fatherless 14 year old closet homosexuals posting on every little detail of things that last less than a minute and hero worshipping the zuffa hype machine.
a fighter farts and blows his nose.
half an hour later 1000s of ppl are wasting 1000s of hours of their lives analysing it.
it gets to the point where if you cut away the fight itself, you have this ugly picture of a massive f---ing hype machine and row after row of brain dead internet button tapper hanging in its t---.
eventually this beast takes over the fight itself and turns everything back into wwe.
its more of an aronofsky, than a spielberg, but there you go.

they really need to make a movie about that guy. seriously....even if it barely touches on his mma career, the rest of his life is still movie worthy.

I remember reading that something was in the works but they didn't want to make the movie while Murray's case was still in court.
Rich Franklin from being a high school math teacher to becoming a champ.
It should end with him eventually losing to SIlva. And then Franklin can say something along the lines of, "With that loss I learned a lesson -that's right- this time the teacher got taught."

I think there should be a decent movie about a MMA camp. Have about 10 fighters getting trained. Show some individual fight footage, but show how they train. Talk about the fear and pre fight rits ... so forth. Dont make it about a fighter ... make it about a fight camp. Not everyone should win either. Make it real ... show how they stick together as a unit when things get tough. It doesn't even matter if anyone is a champion or becomes a champion, but how there is a true bond.

^^This. I have read the whole thread and this stands out as the best idea.
Also, I would add another angle to it. It is a young sport and often misunderstood. There should be some focus on how MMA fighters are perceived by the public. A lot of people regard cage fighting as a brutal, senseless blood sport that should be banned everywhere. But of course there are now millions of fans who know otherwise. If the movie could show the interaction with the fans but also the more ignorant/hostile elements in the public that would be interesting and help the sport.
Make the movie like Rudy but with MMA. Have a guy wanting to do mma but is in college, isn't that good and cant afford training so he goes Rocky and makes his own stuff and learns the traits by himself and eventually he makes it. He could go to work with bruises and things like on fight club but its legit and he is really talented but needs time and the right people to get things going.

He is the youngest champion ever came out in a bang with his UFC career. Had questions about his heart, had fights where he just gave up, became hw champ, then moved to lhw, became champ threw and eyecut, lost the title, more questions about his fighting career. Lots of problems in his personal life. His sister was kidnapped, he left figthing came back, fought in so many different venues and for different companies, and now has found strength in god, and has went on a win streak and now is fighting for the middle weight championship of the world, and completely has changed as a person and as a fighter since the day he has been known, and famous.

Kevin James will play a fat chemistry teacher that takes up getting punched in the face to help save the arts program.
