He defeated Congo and Rothwell, not exactly premium fighters. Plus 5 other nobodies. How does this make him a top heavyweight? I get the feeling that Cain has been chosen by Zuffa and they want him to become the next contender. Just like they wanted Brock. In other words, the UFC is in the business of making champions, regardless if they have one or not. Am curious what other people think.

All questions about how good Cain is will be answered Saturday night. He can gain a lot of respect - even in defeat - if he performs well.

I'm really curious how he performs. The problem I have is that I can't trust a single word that comes out of Dana's mouth.
Was just watching the preview for UFC 110 and some Zuffa executive makes this statement: The Silva-Bisping fight is "perhaps one of the most eagerly anticipated fights in UFC History." Wtf? Really?

I must have missed something, what did Dana say and what does it have to do with what we think about Cain being overrated

No direct quote from Dana, but I just know he drops his name every chance he can get. He's been riding Cain ever since he came to the UFC. Perhaps done to score ratings in Mexico. Same reason Bisping gets pumped up. Keep the brits happy. Again, Cain could totally be legit. My problem is that I don't trust Dana or the UFC.

110 and 111 should tell us who the top heavyweights are.

He's not overrated. He's a guy with 7 fights, 6 wins by tko and has been in the UFC since he was 2-0.
He has jumped at any competition they have thrown at him and he's been successful so far.
He's only got 7 fights.
The people who "overrate" him are knobs, the people who say he has pillow hands are the kind of people who have to have their mittens sewed to their shirts because they lack basic functions.
He's a solid prospect. Nothing more. Even with a win or a loss vs. Nog he's still got a long way to go.

Ill have you know that momma cut the string between my mittens this year! Not only that, she told me I done so good I get to wear those cool mittens with the little pockets you slide your fingers into next winter! (i think she called them glovers or something)
Any HW who can punch someone square in the face THAT many times, nearly uncontested, and that someone actually recovers and gets to his feet while it's happening.... not to mention Kongo, the guy who got dropped and nearly tko'd by one punch from Frank Mir.... I don't know, but, pillow hands seems much more apt than "hands of stone" or "heavy handed" or "powerful", etc...etc...

I don't think many people think he is the best HW, but I'm sure most will agree that he is one of the top up and coming HW's out there. I think it is hard to deny that he is one of the fastest rising HW's currently in the UFC's roster, and, for the most part, utterly dominates his opponents. And FYI, Brown Pride is a Mexican gang located out of Southern California.

UFC was letting him grow slow with little fights against less talented opponets. Big Nog is a huge step and will answer a lot of questions. This is his first "Real" competition.
He is a top prospect but not ready for title contention talk yet. Put him in with Brock after the win and his strengths are completely taken away from him. Brock is larger, and a better wrestler and has heavy ground and pound (Mir's ground beef face.) Give Cain the time to grow and hone his skills and he will be a big threat. I think with Dos Santos beating Werdum (who was a favorite in the title picture) and CC, a match between Cain and Dos Santos should be set up to open the door to title shot talk. 2 up and comers facing each other to move to the next level, what more could you ask for!

i have a feeling mir is going to really put the beating on him. funny enough i think lesnar will handle most hws any day of the week due to size and speed. but i saw carwin having a great shot against lesnar. i dont see him lasting more than a round against mir. good luck to him though.
and like everyone has said, if cain beats nog, uh oh!

I'm sure you were really nice to him, considering his pillow-hand fist is bigger than your head.
