Do people think the ridiculous amount of cancelled fights will be remembered as a phase, or will this be just the way MMA is from here on in?

I think it's just a phase. It'll pass and we'll all forget about it. Just like the "UFC is dying out" phase, or the "Fedor going to the UFC" phase(s).

I highly doubt another card will be canceled for a long time, but fights are going to get scrapped all the time. That is just the nature of the beast.

It's been a run if bad luck for the UFC, I doubt number of high profile injuries will stay this high.

Why not ask the fighters that keep pulling out, instead of the organization that is putting the fights together.

^^this
Fights will get scrapped just like NFL/NBA/MLB ticketholders who buy tickets to see their favorite player are sometimes disappointed when that player cant play (look at Adrian Peterson last year with his ACL, D. Rose for the Bulls blowing out his ACL, there is a gigantic laundrylist of players who get hurt)
Cards getting scrapped? I don't think that happens again, at least not for a long time.

Is "tonyb" one of BRF's most recent alter egos? Seems to be a strong similarity in posting style and agenda between these two names...

I made this comment and maybe I should clarify.
As fans it is fair for us to hold a particular level of acceptance of a fight card.
The UFC is doing their jobs putting together several fight cards that we as fans want to see. It is the fighters that are the ones pulling out of the fights.
The UFC is doing their job getting around all the paperwork bureaucratic mess of scheduling and payroll to get these guys to meet one another. And then 3 weeks later Fighter A pulls out because he has a sore something.
And when those cards do not work out we as fans are stuck with cards that are pieced together. We all know that the UFC is not behind the curtain pulling the strings to screw the fans, if there is anyone else that wants these fights to work out as planned, it is the people that are putting it on.
It seems like day in day out people get on these boards looking for someone to blame and it always comes back on the UFC on whatever the problem is. And some people forget that frankly, s--- happens.
