He seems to have a very similar unorthodox and awkward style in the cage. It was especially noticeable in his last fight against Gonzaga. Thoughts?

Did Schaub look good so much as Gonzaga looked bad?

I really didn't see unorthodox, awkward style from Schaub? At least, no where near the extent that you get from Jardine.
His stance was very low, but I assumed that was a strategic decision to help with sprawls. His boxing seemed fairly technical.
Maybe I need to rewatch the fight.

Yeah, this is what I saw as well. No clue what the OP is talking about.

I cant see Schaub reaching the heights that Jardine did or crashing and burning as hard and fast as Jardine did
He may have a slight chance if he gets the Mir fight that he wants but no way he's nowhere near being competitive in a fight with the top 4 at the moment

Sorry, but I don't see how you consider his stance unorthodox, especially on the level of Jardine's unorthodoxness. I'm sure Greg Jackson hasn't tried to mess that much with his striking considering his golden gloves background

His jab was very solid and far better than a ton of MMA fighters.

Thanks for all the replies. Maybe I'm the one that needs to re-watch the fight!

His jab and his quickness is what made him look so good. Part of the speed advantage seemed to be GG's complete lack of it, however.

jardine has the ugliest fighting style in all MArts... it really hurts my eyes to watch him fight.

Why would he be the keith jardine? He is on a winning streak. He wins dominantly. IMO he is the opposite of Keith. Plus he is in the UFC keith is getting beat in other organizations.
