Assuming he signs with the UFC, I think he should get an immediate title shot, after tonight I BELIEVE!!!! He took out one of the top wrestler in MMA, or if you still dont think he can win is he the best threat to beat him??

Probably not. But atleast GSP would get a chance to use his striking for once. I dont think Jake gets an immediate title shot. Since he's been fighting at mw i think they will give him a fight or 2 at WW first. Maybe the winner or Alves/Fitch and then someone like Hardy.
He just beat the arguably the best MW not named Anderson Silva!! I know people are trying to discredit Hendo like haters would do, but Hendo was still one of the top guys in the UFC and he got tooled. Hendo was much much bigger than Shields, because of his size his wrestling is better than GSP's and Jake tooled him on the ground. GSP's bread and butter is the ground. I know GSP's striking is so much better but this coming from a GSP nuthuggger I think Shields can WIN!!

Sorry but Hendo does not at all have better wrestling than GSP. At least he doesn't at almost 40 years old. Shields is a good grappler like I said but he has no chance of out grappling the best in MMA. GSP easily stuffs his TDs and lights him up on the feet. It would look something like GSP vs Fitch. Onesided beatdown.

sorry to say I think I realize why Dana didnt want to re-sign Hendo.. he didnt look right tonight.. I guess his age is catching up to him.. GSP is far more explosive.. oh and he doesnt gas in the second round..

I dont know man, i'm a Hendo fan but Shields looked bigger to me. Ever since he put on (or kept) the weight for the Lawler fight he's looked solid. He carries the weight well. And i f**ken cant stand Shields and it pains me to say it. He's not as big as Marquardt, but he's a good sized MW. He'd be a big ww in the UFC. At 6'1" he's Hardy size. He's gonna have a size advantage in almost every fight. He's still slow as sh*t though.

Shields is 6' or 6'1" depending on which 7-11 he's walking out of.
After the 3rd round this is the fight I wanted to see. Someone who's wrestling looks like it can deal with GSP. Although Shields standup did not look great to me, he did manage to survive. I'd rather see Shields fight GSP then Bisping :lol:

GSP would murder Jake shields in the blink of an eye. Jake shield has no reason to be in the same ring as GSP, let alone a true top welterweight, Alves, Fitch, Koscheck. Have your crush on Jake Shield someplace else. Discussion over.
