This is a sad day for anyone who's a Slayer fan. He passed away at around 11am this morning due to liver failure.
Jeff Hannamen (1964 - 2013) R.I.P.

Can't say I've heard much of his music, but 49 is too young for anyone to go. RIP.

f---, I missspelled his name. Hanneman it is. I feel like a dummy now. Seen them live with Children of Bodom and Lamb of God. Jeff was headbanging damn near the whole time. He was also the founder of the band so it's the end of Slayer touring. I would expect a couple albums of unreleased songs.

Its like when the Beastie Boys lost MCA.
He was quite glue.
I couldn't see this band without him.

In 2006? I went to the same tour if so.
It will not be the end of Slayer touring I imagine. They have been touring without Jeff for awhile has he had serious issues stemming from a spider bite which caused him to get the flesh eating disease. He had been on the road to recovery (numerous surgeries and rehab) and had joined Slayer onstage for the encore at a festival last year.
Hanneman however was the principal song writer and wrote the majority of Slayer's signature songs.

Must have been in 2006 I have too horrid of a memory to really recall. It was in Vancouver BC, Mastodon also played not a big fan of them but that should ring a bell. I am curious as to what spider he was bit from?

I was in the same building that night at GM Place. There was another band too...As I Lay Dying I think.... I am a big Children of Bodom fan and that was the first time I saw them live. I recall midway through Lamb of God really wishing CoB had their set length instead. f--- they are good live!!!!!
I know the ol Brown Recluse bite can cause necrosis.

Hell yeah that was the same show, I was choked when children played like 6 when lamb of god played double or more. not that I don't like LOB just Bodom is a far better live performance. That was the best show I've seen next to Judas Priest.
Yeah I live in BC and where I live the brown recluse is everywhere and piss loads of them. I f---ing hate those things.

I live up in Whistler BC. Where are you at? I was under the impression that the recluse wasn't actually in BC and that no confirmed bites or specimen have been found.

I live in Kelowna BC it's been here for atleast 7 years. We call the spider out here the hobo spider, I believe it's basically a different type of brown recluse.

Its a completely different species but also can have a severe bite. The hobo spider has been spreading across North America after being introduced.

The Hobo is not a recluse actually, they are a funnel web spider and the bite does not cause necrosis like a fiddleback does, but it can make ya damn sick. A friend who lives in Seattle was bitten by one back in the 80s he got damn sick but that was it, a recluse fiddleback rots your damn flesh like and acid causing necrotizing fasciitis
at the site, my great uncle had several holes in his leg from them.

"This laboratory study has led to the proposal that in some parts of the U.S. nearly all bites attributed to the
brown recluse spider
are in reality the hobo spider's bite"
"The
brown recluse
spider or violin spider, Loxosceles reclusa, Sicariidae
....
found in the northwestern United States and southern
British Columbia
, has been
..."
both from wikipedia and trust me, I've seen all the pictures and I can tell the difference between them. I can assure you they are in BC and they are surely in Kelowna. I see brown recluse all the time, I have a garbage cam on my old phone but getting a new iphone soon. When it gets hot for a number of days
. I will see them and get pictures, don't know why my font changed but ok.

Not saying you don't have Fiddlers just that they are not the same species of spider and have a different type of venom.
