GRAPPLETHIS' TOP 10 ANTICIPATED FIGHTS
The top five!
5) grapplethis vs. tai_mai_shu
Early in his career, grapple called out tai mai shu. while the two have never fought in the major leagues, they split two back to back fights. at JEC 27, tai KTFO'd grapple, and at the very next event, grapple rebounded for a decision win. it only makes sense that the rubber match take place in the UJC or JFC. It's been a while since the two have thrown down, and i just know it would be a war. also there's the journalist vs journalist angle. the fight would be one of just a few viable cross promotional bouts, given both fighters' connections to the league staff.
4) iceman22 vs. anarchyelbows
this is an underrated matchup, which in my opinion, would need to take place in the JEC. This is a one-on-one manifestation of the JEC team rankings race for first place, with Iceman captaining second place Prediction Affliction and Anarchyelbows captaining first place Bloodsport. These two head trainers have built the JFF's two most dominant JEC teams, with bloodsport holding first place for the past month or so, and prediction affliction holding strong in second. Last even, PA pulled off a huge 40 for 40 showing. i'm sure it is not all ice and anarchy's doing, but as head trainers of their teams, both have to have huge JEC knowledge. i think it would be a huge fight.
3) Metalmike00 vs. Tobikan-Judan
this is a bit of an oddball. you're probably thinking "what has metalmike done to deserve the #3 fight." well, this is my fight list, not tai's "fight's the FANS want to see. so f--- you if you're questioning me. But mike, from the start, has been a dominant JEC fighter. his first two events saw him gain FighterOTN honours, and after a small spell of mediocrity, he has put together an impressive streak of 7 consecutive wins, winning a title and defending it once against his teammate, anarchyelbows. with wins over stalwarts anarchyelbows, elfudge35, bluntforce, and avonbarksdale in his last four, mike has cemented himself, for the moment, as the JFF's best JEC fighter. Over the course of league history, two time JEC champ Tobikan judan has been widely regarded as the best JEC fighter in the world for quite sometime. this is the battle of the best JEC-er ever against he best JEC-er around today.
2) srdafish vs. buffaloblue
I found it hard to make a list like this without getting these two in, so they got matched up with each other. Say what you will about blue, but a win over him is a big deal, and he is a big name (which is why i got myself TWO wins over him
). srdafish has put together quite the 2009, winning the inaugural King of Asia tourney, the inaugural UJC GP and a JEC title. While he didn't defend any of the belts (if i remember correctly), his record is strong, and with the belts he's one, fish is a dark horse for FFOTY honours, and a few wins like one over blue could put him right into the mix
1) castellammarese vs. goodcat (superfight)
what more is there to say. these are the two leading candidates for FFOTY (srdafish is a dark horse there). Goodcat is 23-11 and a winner of his past 11 fights, having broken a tie with stella and the late lightsout84 for the record for most title defences. And you all know where Stella's coming from, owner of a 12 fight win streak earlier this year, and a share of the old title defence record, the guy has only lost 3 fights in 2009. this has the potential to be the most viewed fight in JFF history, and if it took place now, it would feature two superstars of the sport in the prime of their careers.

MISC. NEWS
It was a busy week here at the news. here's some of what got lost in the shuffle.
- phoenix-mma retires from the JFF with little fanfare. He is released by Junkie Top Team to make room for the team's returning founder, NS2B.
- TUFF signs manupwear
-Chute Boxe signs condrab
- though results are unofficial, a press release came out of the TXS sunday informing us that castellammarese had won the 2009 Fighter Of the Year. Let me be the first to issue you an unofficial congrats, stella.

rumor has it that the JFC will be hosting the Tony Stark Invitational. Rules state that whoever can drink the most scotch and sleep with the most women from this Saturday at UFC 107 to Jan 2 at ufc 108 will be the winner. TUFF is already disqualified for paying trannies to sleep with them.
