Welterweight Matt Brown has agreed to face John Hathaway at UFC 138 after the Brit's original opponent, Pascal Krauss, recently pulled out of the fight due to a shoulder injury, MMA Fighting confirmed with sources close to the event.
UFC 138, headlined by Chris Leben vs. Mark Munoz, takes place Nov. 5 at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England.
Hathaway (15-1) defeated Kris McCray at UFC Fight Night 24 in March to get back on track after suffering the first loss of his career against Mike Pyle at UFC 120 last October.
Brown (12-10) recently snapped a three-fight losing streak when he defeated John Howard at UFC Live on Versus 4. The former TUF cast member is 5-4 in the UFC.
Also scheduled for the UFC's return to England is Brad Pickett vs. Renan Barao and Thiago Alves vs. newcomer Papy Abedi.

By taking winnable fights? Hathaway's last win was a close(some might say questionable) decision to Kris McCray. Brown always comes to fight. I'm not saying he is gonna win, but he isn't FOR SURE gonna lose.

Styles Make fights
Matt Brown does not have the style to beat Hathaway
Wrestling +JJ +cardio beats Hathaway
Pyle did it, McCray came close

i give him credit for being tough as hell, but he's only won one of his last four outings. for the safety of his career i would think he wouldn't be fighting some of the guys he does. and obviously he isn't FOR SURE gonna lose. he obviously has a lot of belief in himself to fight these guys.

Matt Brown for the W...i dont see what everyone else sees in hathaway, i picked mccray over hathaway and i will pick brown over hathaway as well. ......howard has better offensive wrestling then hathaway and he couldnt get or keep brown down....brown also has better/more powerful strikes then the brit. brown by decision or tko
also i will take Matt Humes gameplaning over London Shootfighters any day(vemola, zaromskis, james thompson)

good move for "The Immortal"
I dont remember any replacement fighter ever getting cut after a loss, and if he does lose than his next oponent will likely be a can as Dana now owes him.
Plus Hathaway has beaten some big names while still [in my opinion} not being that good, so a win would help Brown greatly.

Very interesting fight.
Matt Brown is one of those guys who doesn't really seem to be a good fighter, but somehow pulls out some wins every now and then. He can be fun to watch.
A lot of people jumped on the Hathaway fight after the Sanchez victory, but he's been fairly disappointing since then. Maybe its just another sign that Mr. Sanchez is overrated?
Either way, tough fight to call.
