Georges St. Pierre is a close second to Fitch with 1924 total strikes, but comes in first on the “Significant Strikes Landed” leaderboard with 892; Jon Fitch isn’t even in the top ten on that one.
Also surprising: Because of their multiple title fights and frequent decisions, Frank Edgar and Sean Sherk have average fight times of over 15 minutes. Plus, Anderson Silva is just one knockdown away from catching Chuck Liddell’s record of 14 KDs, Cheick Kongo has the fifth-best takedown accuracy in the UFC, and the hardest-to-hit fighter in UFC history isn’t Lyoto Machida or Georges St. Pierre — it’s TUF 4 vet Pete Spratt, who only ate 0.89 shots per minute during his 3-4 stint in the Octagon. Thanx for posting the stats. I would have never guessed any of them correct.
Also, I find many of them eye-openers. Like average fight time. I guess GSP in the early days must have had some very quick fights because he has been going the distance for numerous fights. And surprised to see BJ's name there for "longest avg fight time."
But the one that throws me the most is GSP with a 0.99 strikes absorbed per min. I have a really hard time believing that. I mean that is just not his style and I would think that the fighters that mix it up right away as the round starts would be considerable higher.
Maybe I'm not reading them right. Interesting nevertheless.

Kind of surprising that the 3 heavyweights are the top at strikes per minute. Maybe because their fights don't tend to last as long????

Fitch may have thrown most strikes but he has done less damage with them than what Kalib Starnes did in his last match in UFC. That is the problem, no statistic is going to change that.

He landed more strikes than anyone, but also struggles to finish anyone and is one of the most boring fighters to watch imo :|

Significant Strikes Landed / Per Minute is an impressive stat...Cain is impressive too but his stats are skewed from the Brock fight...he prob had 50 Signigifant Strikes in 1 minute in that fight :lol:

Uhh, no. It goes to show that intelligence and nuance are needed to understand statistics. Jon Fitch has landed the most strikes, but it goes to show that just landing some sort of strike is not meaningful.

actually this stats are showing us why everybody knows that Jon Fitch is the king of lay and pray, all his punches are pillow punches to just avoid the ref to stand them up and he goes with his mind that the fight is going with the judges, look on the face of every figther he has been in ther ring, they can go for another fight in the next day, no damage.
this stats just show us how Jon Fitch never look to win the fights with a finish, he knows the system of scoring in MMA reward alot of the wrestling and he settle with that. is funny how people continue to talk about Jon Fitch been a diferent figther and now he can finish GSP big time when this stats shows us how poor evolution he has been and never want to leave the lay and pray moves

Not the case at all. Besides Lesnar, he poured it on Nogueira, Rothwell & Kongo. I haven't seen his fights with Stojnic, O'Brien, & Morris but I'm sure he got off a lot on them, too.
