I like the guy and think he's gonna lay a beatdown on machida tomorrow but damn, if this guy doesn't want people hating on him so much strop giving people little things to nit pick at. His staredown just comes across as extremely disrespectful. It literally seems like he's "looking past" machida with the staredown, and he's always had his staredown like this i believe

Michael Jordan/Muhummad Ali are the kings of their respective sports and both played mind games better than anyone. Jon Jones is doing the exact same thing (and if Ali did this everyone would laugh and find it awesome). There's no way this kid is ACTUALLY looking past Machida though. If there is any sport where you can't look past ANY opponent...it's MMA.

This EXACT same thread was started when Jon Jones and Machida had a stare-down at the press conference.
Is it really more disrespectful to look past someone than to look them in the eyes and talk trash? Because no one seems to have a problem with that.

I really couldn't care less about staredowns its all about the fight i mean there has been way to many times where a guy looks like a bad *** during the stare down and gets smashed and humilated during a fight, i don't find what he does annoying at all

I personally don't care, but this is a reason why people don't like Jon Jones. If the disrespecting your opponents schtick works for Jones, more power to him, but then he can't wonder why some fans don't like him.

I was thinkin that if I was in Machida's position, I would move into his line of sight during the staredown to force him to look at me. And if he turned his head away I'd move accordingly :lol:
