out of her life despite multiple abuse charges and horrific allegations of violence.
The 25-year-old woman told
Wicked Local Middleborough
that she loves her husband and wants him back after he gets help.
She also wants back the pitbull terrier he reportedly trained to attack her.
An emotional Kaitlyn Grispi, who has two children with the 25-year-old former UFC fighter, said her husband is a “great father” despite clear evidence of abuse.
“My kids miss him so much,” she said of their children, ages 1 and 3. “It’s hard. My son’s birthday is tomorrow. It’s just rough.”
Josh Grispi sits in jail one week after a
pair of arrests on charges of domestic abuse and assault
. He was denied bail after violating the terms of his release with the second arrest, which included weapons, animal cruelty and drug charges.
Kaitlyn Grispi said she talks to her husband every day as he awaits his fate. She added that reports of the violence in their relationship have been overblown, despite court documents that say she fled her husband after she allegedly punched and kicked and dragged by her hair, in addition to being attacked by their dog at Josh’s behest.
“It’s about his name with the UFC,” she said. “It’s not Kaitlyn Grispi with my picture getting domestically abused.
“I would like to see how many domestic abuse (cases) happen in Middleboro. How come they don’t get any of this (attention)?”
A neighbor called 911 after Kaitlyn Grispi showed up at her doorstep this past Monday in her underwear, terrified that her husband would find her, according to the
Taunton Gazette
. She was bleeding from the leg and had scratches on her body from the alleged dog attack. She also suffered a concussion and spent a night in the hospital.
Police showed up four days earlier after Kaitlyn Grispi’s mother showed them pictures of her bruised and bloodied, the Gazette reported. They arrested Josh Grispi and convinced her to file an emergency restraining order. While in the house, they also found several unsecured firearms in close proximity to the Grispi’s 1-year-old daughter.
Kaitlyn Grispi allowed the restraining order to lapse, believing her husband would get better. One week later, still recovering from her injuries, she ventured that concussions may have made her husband aggressive.
“I told him today that he needs to be evaluated with a CAT scan to see what is going on up there,” she said.
And while she admitted what he did was wrong, she said he is committed to the marriage.
“Behind closed doors, everyone has a fight,” Kaitlyn Grispi said. “Maybe not that far, but everyone’s gonna fight. Every marriage has its problems. Does that mean you give up on it?”
