Just wanted to quickly point this out. While Koscheck has been improving his record in the MMA world with his most recent win over Paul "After the Whistle" Daley, it seems that he hasnt been getting the best of the trashtalking record. Lets break down a few examples.
Kos vs. GSP 1 - Koscheck talked, at length, at how he was the superior wrestler and that he would put GSP on his *** and break him down. As the fight played out, the opposite was proven and the decisive win was in GSP's favour. This equals a loss for both his MMA and trash talking record.
Kos vs. Daley - Koscheck stated that he would either knock Daley out, or take him down and choke him out. Neither happened, as we saw, but he did achieve a lackluster "w" in the for his efforts in the fight. Still, didnt back the trashtalking up near enough to be respected.
And finally, Kos VS Montreal Fight Fans - Koscheck took his frustrations from the fight out on the fans of Montreal by stating that first "his" Pittsberg Penguins would roll over the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL Playoffs, then he would beat GSP to make it 2-0 for him. Well it seems that the Canadiens beat Koscheck's Penguins out of the Stanley Cup playoffs and if history repeats itself, it will seem that in fact Canadian fight fans will be up 2-0 over Koscheck when GSP drops him on his head until that nice bright hair turns a nice shade of red.
All in all, it seems like Koscheck should stick to what he does fairly well, fighting, and keep the trash talking for his WWE career that awaits him if the UFC thing doesnt pan out for him in the future.
P.S I'm not a Canadiens fan, but it was nice to see Kos choke on his words so soon after Saturday's remarks.

I think you pay too much attention in to the hype talk, its not the truths they are saying they just hype up the fights..

You serious with this post? So when a fighter says he is going to win but ends up losing they are actually just bad at trash talking?

That is the most in-depth analysis of trash talk that I have ever seen.

I think we should all break down into focus groups and analyze this.

Stop trying to act like you know a fighter based on an hour of edited interviews over the course of years. Ya he didnt back up either last Saturday. Who knows what his plan was? No one, including Daley knew what his game plan was gonna be. Not gaining respect? He is gonna be fighting the one of the top P4P fighters in the world on the biggest mma stage. Doubt he cares to much about your respect.

I love a good trash talking contest, but after the punchline have been said, and I've had my laugh, I leave it at that.

An hour of edited interviews over the course of a year? try a whole career. From day one he's talked s--- and acted like a d--- at every opportunity. It's not stricktly to hype up a fight either, he is just like Tito used to be, looking for a camera to make ridiculous remarks. I only included the examples that were relevant to the events of Saturday night. Noone can say that kos's performance was inpressive that night, and if he showed anything like that again GSP he would be in a world of hurt. Yes, he will be fighting one of the P4P fighters in the world on the biggest stage, but that will just provide him a bigger platform to choke on his words. SO thanks for pretty much saying nothing ...
And this post was just supposed to point out a few obvious things that add to Kos being public enemy #1.

Did he act like a "d*ck" when Daley took a cheap shot at him at UFC 113?

So you could only come up with 3 examples of trash talking getting the best of Koscheck in the last 3-4 years? And one of them is about his hockey team losing a series? For the amount of trash he talks, that doesn't seem overwhelming in the slightest.

What do you expect him to say about fighting GSP and Daley? There is nothing wrong with predicting that he will knock out, submit, out wrestle, and beat someone when ultimately he wasn't able to get the job done. Just about all fighters make predictions that don't end up happening. You think he should say he is going to lose to his opponenents or something?
There are many fighters who have a lot worse record than Koscheck and I think it is safe to say that all fighters openly say that they are going to win their fights. With your thinking, all fighters who have a worse record than Koscheck are actually worse at trash talking too cause they made wrong pedictions a lot more times. Doesn't make sense.

Resolute - He would have been warranted to complain about the cheap shot, but instead he used his mic time to take a jab at the fans in the arena - seems like a classy thing to do?
MightyMice - as I said before "I only included the examples that were relevant to the events of Saturday night" - I dont really care to go back through his fight interviews and quote his exact words because we all know he talks trash, and yes alot of it is just confidence, thats why I just provided the most recent example because he was funny that less than a week after making ridiculous and irrelivent comments to the crowd in Montreal, he was made to look like the jackass he is.
People are getting pretty wrapped up in this, I thought this was putting a fairly entertaining spin on his antics with the combination of the hockey aspect, but apparently Kos has the sympathy card vote because he looks like a troll doll.

I thought trashtalking was more about making crap up and pissing your opponent off?? I think Kos did well at the trashtalking because it threw Daley off his game enough that he threw a sucker punch after the fight was over.

Good point, it just doesnt explain his attacking the fans with his trash talking. Didn't serve him or the sport right?
