I'm starting to become a fan of this guy but there is one thing i was curious about. In the Werdum fight he was listed as a BJJ purple belt and in his most recent fight he is now a black belt. How does a guy get two BJJ belt promotions in five months?

Depending on who you train under, some are based on skill, some are based on accomplishments, and some are based on both. The fact that he won in the UFC could have caused him to get his black belt. He win via KO though, so I don't know why that would matter. All black belts arent created equal =D.

and some are made by money... I did not noticed that, but it could be with the UFC trying to hipe this guy up...Sure he can strike, but as far as his ground game, we dont know yet, and to skip from purple to black in less than six months, seems pretty weird...
