Just got back from the rally in DC

I can describe the rally to you, it was kind of liking watching their respective shows. The music entertainment was atrocious, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, and the Roots (they were ok at the end). No room to see anything, there was so many people, that they looped around to the Smithsonian to the left of the rally who were pretty much just listening to the rally from speakers. A bunch of kids were climbing trees to get vision, some climbed the traffic lights. There was no cell phone reception at the rally grounds but if you went to the reflecting pool directly behind it you had reception. I don't have too many pics, of the rally, as I didn't enjoy it as much as the friends I went with. I enjoyed walking around capitol square, and visiting the Library of Congress Jefferson building. I got the pics on my phone.
Oh god what a joke of a rally. The "sanity" rally... Geese people have no clue whats going on in the world these days and how f---ed up it really is. People who are mad and loud are not insane (as that rally indicates), they are the only people who are informed. If it wasn't for outraged people, blacks would still be sitting in the back of buses and women wouldn't be able to vote. If it wasn't for today's so called "insane" people who speak up, there would have been a second stimulus package already plus cap and trade, and retribution for immigrants. But lets isolate and make fun of people who question a government.

actually, rosa parks was a pretty understated and quiet lady. and martin luther king never came off as angry.
same with the suffragettes. their tactics were very tame when compared to today's political activists.

And today's tactics are hateful and violent I would assume? Well I guess today's people hate corruption just like how blacks hated racism so I guess you can call it "hateful" if you must. And yes the people who stood up for civil rights

What is going on today is called non-violent protests with people who are not afraid to stand up for what is right. Just like what other people did in the past.
The funny thing is that all the people who show up to these "sanity" rallies are the exact same people who protested and spoke up loudly against Bush. And it was a good thing that they protested Bush! This time however its those same people that are calling protesters crazy extremists. The world is a funny place where the left pretends to care about war and tyranny when republicans are in charge yet they wouldn't dare speak up when democrats are in charge while on the other hand the right pretends to care about fiscal conservatism while the democrats are in charge yet they could have cared less when the republicans were in charge. Oh how the little sheep love to jump over to the other side of the fence when their role models tell them to. What an endless paradox of stupidity and hypocrisy.

People who are outraged about corruption should demand immediate transparency of all lobbying and campaign contributions.

I'd 99% of protesters of either side are protesting for transparency. But a few bad apples (1%) get in the mix and everyone defaults entire movements based off of a few media mongols and politicians that show their faces at protests and try to benefit from them. But I'm glad you touched note on lobbing. How do you think campaign lobbyist get paid back? They get paid though stimulus or renewal acts or they get appointed as heads of new branches of government and ect, ect... Out of the 1.3 trillion dollar stimulus, the average that a citizen received 7$. A whole 7$.... Where do you think the rest of the money went to? Corporate lobbyist.That is exactly why people are pissed.
There are 3.4 billion people in the world being shoved around by a measly 10,000 people. Those people are the politicians, mega corporations, bankers ect... Now we have "sanity" rallies that suggest we should isolate anyone who stands up to those 10,000 people. Sad thing is that we could win this so easy but people around the world don't have the brains or the balls to accomplish anything.

I don't believe that the Stewart/Colbert rally was so much directed at individual citizens as it was at a segment of the media who relies on polarization and fear mongering to drum up their ratings and sell their various hate-related propaganda products (DVDs, books, etc.). There are certainly legitimate arguments of dissatisfaction that should be made by people of all political persuasions, and perhaps even outrage to be had, but most Americans don't (or shouldn't) possess the single-minded viewpoints that Bill O'Reilly or Keith Olbermann are trying to sell us.
The rally was to make a mockery of Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin....etc...but they manage to make a mockery of themselves anyhow
I thought it was hilarious, and Stewart actually made a pretty good speech......and a good point CNN, FOX news, CNBC dont speak for 90% of American people

U.S. population is 308 million. So that's $2,156,000,000 that the People received (2.156 billion).
$1,297,844,000,000 left for the lobbyists (1.3 trillion).
