Neither one of them is any good. Whoever lands the first big punch wins. It's not "buying into the Kimbo hype". No one thinks Kimbo is going to be the champ or anything.

meathead can take a punch eh proved that in his fight with junk he also was able to get up after being taken down by marcus jones so i don;t see kimbo winning the ground war. Their striking is equally sloppy and powerful but meathead has the better chin so he will KO kimbo
You guys must have all watched a different Mitrione than I watched. That dude was a total jackass. The guy has absolutely nothing on the ground and maybe has a chin if you can call it that standing and thats about it. His punching was awful, sure he has power but the technique was terrible. And if Kimbo not taking Mitriones fight because of his knee is messed up, what is Mitriones original "OOooo I have a headache I dont know if I can fight or not" for 3 days?
I'm not some huge Kimbo fan but I hope he drops Mitrione on the first punch and the dude never steps into a ring again.

i didn';t mind mitrione also he was able to get up repeatedly in his fight wiht marcus jones i wudn't call that no ground game jones is a big f---er and has a decent ground game and cudn't do s--- to mitrione
If I remember correctly, Jones took him down twice and laid on his side on top of Mitrione panting while he threw like 2 knees and a punch. The only time I remember him doing any ground work was when Mitrione fell on top of him into a headlock and just stood on his head while Jones did almost nothing with it then let go. That fight was awful by both guys. Kimbos fight was at least against someone that had some sort of record even if he is a dbag, and he actually had a decent slam, and I guarantee he could out box Mitrione if they stood on their feet, Mitrione throws more manboob that fist when he punches.
kimbo is not in anyway inferior standing up to mitrione. his head movement and ability to slip and load punches is way better than "meat head", and his strikes are more efficient. his boxing is years above mitrione, i do agree that mitrione may hit harder but kimbo has decent enough skills to smash this guy. no i don't think kimbo can compete with the likes of the upper echelon heavyweights but he should be able to handle this guy

2 things here. I made a thread when Kimbo busted onto the MMA scene asking if anybody remembered Kimbo doing a porn. I have seen him in reality king porns a couple times. Not recently or in the last 2 or 3 years. You cant find any of his old work either.
2nd thing is that Matt Mitrone is now at RoufusSport here in Milwaukee. He is battling with Pat Barry and Rothwell on a daily basis. Barry and Mitrone have a contest going every week that whomever makes the other bleed the most times in the week have to buy winner a burrito at the end of the week.(Or it might be tap outs in BJJ)
1 thing that stands out from meeting Mitrone is that he is not a large HW at all. Dont get me wrong, he is strong. When we were talking, he mentioned that he has been in the weight room his entire life and he has never been body building strong. He is just functionally strong. I have yet to spar with him, but from what I hear, he hits like a horse. He gave Pat Barry a black eye, swollen nose and bloody, and a fat lip with one punch.
i would be hyped to see Mitrione win that fight.....i think Mitrione began to take his training much more seriously after his TUF experience and i was pretty impressed with him when he fought Jones. a little post fight interview coaching for him and i think he could be an interesting fighter for that division.

He is a nice guy. Has been at our camp for a few weeks and he is already helping the other fighters there training for their fights. From the ammys to the pros that noone knows about yet. I am a fan of his because he is super friendly and may talk as much as Pat Barry.
