I also lived in Colorado, Crested Butte to be exact. There, everybody, even the older crowds were always on the Mountains skiing/snowboarding in the winter and biking or hiking in the summer time.

Jesus I didn't know anyone actually lived in Crested Butte, I thought people just visited. Beautiful city though. Anywho back to topic. I think what has caused the overwhelming laziness that I too have succumbed too, is instant gratification. Remember when we were kids and if your parents were really cool you might be able to unwrap one present Christmas eve and you never knew what anything was going to be? Now these kids are going on shopping trips with their parents and picking out their own presents that most parents let their kids have whenever they want. You want to know something, google it, no reading or research. Just a few keystrokes away from every piece of knowledge known to man that can be entered into a computer.

The names Thomas, but you can call me Jesus if you want  Yeah, tiny town though. Somebody has to take care of the people that come to visit. I was a bartender out there.
Kids are spoiled these days no doubt. I can see it in my niece and nephew and some other kids I am around all the time. My mom and thier parents spoil my niece and nephew and my mom tries to do it with my son as well, but I won't let her. I try and be different with my son, I guess you can say I use the old school methods for raising my kid. For Christmas, even though my niece and nephew pick out what they want, they are still unhappy, because they wanted something else they didn't get. I think parents just need to learn to lay down the law with their kids and deal with the crying or tantrum that comes with it occasionally.

Preach on Jesus. I can only imagine the asskicking wrath I would of incurred as a kid if I had said something about not being happy about what I got. My parents worked their asses off for what I got, and I appreciated everything down to the socks, underwear, and books. It means alot more even as a kid, if your parents got you presents because you deserved them. I remember I got the second kind of Jordans for my birthday when I was a kid. Well I had a sleepover and my dad got mad because we kept him awake. Needless to say, those Jordans never touched my feet, they were returned the next day.
