As the Iceman begins to embark on his journey to regain his LHW Title, I plan to enjoy the ride!
Here's to hoping for the future.
Its a shame Rich "Ace" Franklin has to be the first victim.

I'll believe it when I see it. Don't get me wrong I am a HUGE Chuck Liddell fan (screen name says it all), and always will be, but I don't know if he has it in him anymore. Guess we will find out pretty soon.

it's Chuck the "iced"man Liddell!
This is basically a good night send off for Liddell since Franklin is faster, more agile, and younger than Liddell. TKO/

I am a huge Liddell fan and I don't want to see him get hurt. His striking is average at best and always has been. How many top level strikers has he beat ever really? The only one on his resume is Belfort in 2002. During his title rain most were wrestlers/submission guys, he has always struggled against A level strikers. He was supposedly in his prime before and after his first loss to Rampage, but he got schooled on his feet against the striker than and he will now. Chuck didn't just get old, he is just not getting the matchups he was before.

I hope people that don't want to be on the bandwagon can refrain from trying to talk others off of the bandwagon. If you like Chuck, post your thoughts here. If you don't like Chuck, post your thoughts in another thread (e.g. the TUF 11 thread, the UFC 115 thread). The same should go for any bandwagon thread.

UFC Legend Chuck "Iceman" Liddell To Be Immortalized In Wax
http://www.icemanmma.com/news/?jid=83
Celebrity athlete and UFC sports legend Chuck Liddell will be immortalized in wax May 29 at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.
The 40 year-old athlete will be the first mixed martial arts athlete to be inducted into the famed collection, located in front of the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
The Liddell figure will be officially unveiled Friday, May 28 at 10:30am PT in front of thousands of fans gathered at the UFC Fan Expo (ufcfanexpo.com) taking place May 28-29 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Liddell figure will then be moved to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas and placed on display inside a UFC Octagon, along with Liddell’s trunks and UFC championship belt.
Since taking up martial arts at the age of 12, Liddell has transformed himself into a superstar athlete.
He’s famous for his seven fight win streak in which he was pitted against Randy Couture and Tito Ortiz, among other popular UFC stars.
Liddell has been a part of UFC for over a decade and his star power has helped make it the world’s fastest growing sports organization.
Along the way, Liddell has appeared on numerous magazine covers including ESPN Magazine and has also made guest appearances on HBO’s “Entourage.”
In 2009, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in recognition of his status as MMA’s biggest star and the 6-foot plus athlete is said to have the most feared right hand in the sport.
Since it opened a decade ago, as one of the first locations outside of London, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas has entertained nearly five million visitors and in recent years has scored record attendance, including number of visitors to date in 2009.
Over 100 world-famous figures, each costing an average of $300,000 to create, are featured at the attraction at one time, in various themed areas, and to keep the offerings “fresh” the attraction’s designers regularly spotlight new and exciting exhibits, such as the latest additions of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears wax figures, which made their debuts at other Madame Tussauds worldwide locations but are brand new to the Las Vegas attraction.
Among its recent debut figures in Las Vegas were Snoop Dogg, Kathy Griffin and Pres. Barack Obama and the “Oval Office Experience.”

chuck is fearless. he goes after people, and when you go after people your gonna get countered by a good boxer. people b---- because they immotalize anderson and think that he can finish people at will, but he trains everyday and he knows the consequences of going in at the wrong moment. im not comparing their striking skills im just saying that it can be a lose lose situation. would you rather pay 1000 dollars to watch chuck brawl it out and drop or get dropped or watch anderson circle around for two rounds? i love chucks relentless and merciless style and thats what people pay to see. i dont think that another run for the lhw title is likley because their are too many well rounded fighters, but that killer instinct is priceless

I need to see chuck with back to back decisive victories(at least) before I will think about jumping on this wagon. :geek:

Met him in SB once and he was very nice to everyone. Funny thing was Kelly Slater was also in the bar and know one really cared, but when Chuck walked in you could feel the energy. That said, he needs to go the Matt Hughes route and fight the bigger names past their prime as well. There is simply no way he could deal with a Jones, Davis, or Bader imo. After this, I still think if he wants to fight drag out tito if that's possible and then find a shamrock or something. Not sure what James Toney is going to weigh but I'd like to see that as well. I still get excited watching guys like him fight, but they have to accept the very real possibility the younger guys could seriously hurt him. Infact, the worse thing that could happen to him would be to beat Rich and Tito, then he might ask for a Rampage or something and that would not be good.
I guess I just want two UFC's, one for title's and one for fun. Like the senior PGA. But hey, I actually watched Jones Hopkins last month so obviously I'm a sucker for nostalgia and bad fights.

Styles make matches and Iam definitly more excited for this match then the one he was going to have with Tito.
Liddel has a good chance in beating Rich. and Rich has a good chance in beating Liddel.
Liddel likes to go in and give it his all still and try to finish and Franklin likes to use range, distance and movement to win. SO i think itll be intresting.

Don't you mean "Chuck"wagon?
Disappointed he came out of retirement, his prime has gone and he is too slow. The younger studs are going to knock him out continuously. I am predicting Franklin will knock him out in the second round.

It'll be interesting to see how many junkies jump on the bandwagon after the Iceman victory tomorrow.

I don't care who wins this fight, I like both guys enough to hope that they battle it out for three good rounds, and at the end neither looks like they got outclassed and the decision seems too close to call.

I won't be jumping onto this one, I'll pay my respects to his tombstone after he gets KO'ed tomorrow.

I don't give a fuckkk..... I'll be right here bitches! Watch him go to Strikeforce, work his way up and have an EPIC fight with King Mo, that transitions back and forth every 15-20 seconds through five rounds! And then rips through the UFC LHWs one at a time like he did before he first won the title.
