So I was thinking about this last night, and was too tired to post it, so here it is.. It seems that every new poster follow one of a few potential paths with their posting style, so I figured it would be fun to define them..
The slow starter:
1) Complimentary of everyone, replies are rarely objective
2) Tries to improve the forums with witty topics and "fresh ideas"
3) Insults anyone that disagrees with them
4) Insults anyone and gets banned
The troll that never dies:
1) Comes in guns blazing, telling everyone their wrong, usually poor grammar
2) Gets in fights with everyone, insults at every turn, community reacts with insults, yet somehow the only people that get banned are the good ones that got sucked in
3) Starts posting polite stuff, with surprisingly good topics, and people react positively, but still trolls
4) Invites his wife to the forums so they can tag team the OT! (shout-out to Seawall  )
Anyone got any others? I can lump so many posters into these 2 categories, and it always seems to be the same. BRF for example is between steps 2 and 3 in "the troll that never dies" lifecycle. lol

Very insightful post.
3. New guy comes in with out ever commenting and posts an old and tried topic. Veterans alike flame the new guy for not using the search function and the new guy bails after only one post never to return.

So, I was thinking about this last night, and was too tired to post it. So, here it is: It seems that every new poster follows one of a few potential path's with their posting style. I figured it would be fun to define them:
The slow starter,
1. Complimentary of everyone, replies are rarely objective.
2. Tries to improve the forums with witty topics and "fresh ideas."
3. Insults anyone that disagrees with them.
4. Insults anyone and gets banned.
The troll that never dies,
1. Comes in guns blazing, telling everyone they're wrong, usually, with poor grammar.
2. Gets in fights with everyone. Insults posters at every turn, in which the community reacts with insults. Yet, somehow, the only people that get banned are the morons who are trolled.
3. Starts posting polite stuff, with surprisingly good topics. People react positive but is still trolling.
4. Invites his wife to the forums, so they can tag team the OT! (Seawall, this is you)
Anyone have any others? There are many posters who fit into just these two categories and it's always the same. BRF for example is between steps 2 and 3 in "the troll that never dies" category. lol (It's not calling you out or flaming other posters, I "lol'ed")

Teh Lurker
1. Reads through threads for a long time without signing up or posting.
2. Finds a thread that compels them to post (NTO for e.g.).
3. For the most part, skips the nub phase as has learned from exposure to other nubs vilification's.
4. Gradually fits in and seems wiser than joining date would suggest, even though they're ignored by the vast majority.
5. Goes through cycles of interest and non-interest in the forums as post count slowly builds up.
6. Retires.
7. Returns but posts at much lower frequency than before, if ever.

The Comeback Junkie...
Comes in guns blazing, but is funny and fits in. Posts a lot of raunchy topics, whores up the OT. Posts a lot about beer and boobs. Gets a few warnings, gets mad at the mods. Commits E-Suicide. Suddenly finds out that banned posters are allowed back...reopens the Lounge.

The Vagrant
An old famous poster who returns infrequently to tantalise their adoring fans with words of wisdom. More absent than present.
(eg's Archean_Life, toerag, rocklobster, Seawall, filipino a bunch of peeps from general)

You sir, are a great contribution to the junk, you're the only reason I like into the gif or pic threads!
